Burnley last season hold the championship record with promotion with 7 games to spare.

We've already set the pace this season and have created a huge gap between us and 3rd. If we were to beat Leeds who are fancied as one of the favourites to go up, that would open up a 17 point gap to them. It would take a huge downturn and upturn in the form of both teams for them to catch us from that point. A Leeds win would still mean an 11 point gap to us so it's certainly not the end of the world if we drew or lost but it would be glorious to beat them. Get as many points on the board between now and new year and then in January we can start premier league planning

Think people have genuine reason to moan and whinge today. I'm not even bothered by the scoreline, I'm bothered by the fact that several of our players can't pass the ball 5 yards today. Missing Faes as well. Coady can't pass or drive forward like Faes does. Coady is probably the best defender we have but not sure that's useful when we dominate games so much. We need our defenders to be comfortable on the ball and bringing it out and finding key forward passes

Fair point. Cant see it being a quick, easy job though. They've done well so far but especially when you get to the championship its a huge step up. And then the Premier league is a different beast. They said they wouldn't have been able to compete with Rangers and Celtic if they had a Scottish club but even if they got to the prem, they would never be able to compete with the cartel. You mentioned Luton who have had an amazing journey but realistically they will probably be relegated this season which goes back to my original point that its very hard to compete at the very top of English football.
