  1. You are right I liked his prep turning his back on the keeper then walking away turning and slotting it in. Him Garry Parker and Gary McAllister were the best Leicester penalty takers. The all time best imo were Ray Stewart of West Ham and Matt Le Tiss
  2. Interesting if we got a pen who would take it ? Vards probably but I’d like Iborra or Fuchs to take it on.
  3. Don’t know about you lot but I feel gutted. I went to bed just before penalties started last night. I couldn’t bare the agony. I had many dreams including the World Cup semi England v Germany with Pearce and Waddle! and the Cardiff playoff game with the Waggy miss and our Frenchman’s scuffed heartbreaker It’s all prophetic. Then I woke up to a grinning Guardiola and Bravo celebration need I say more. Why are we so god awful at penalties; reminds me of England perpetual misery. Hamer is a Shilton and Mahrez and Vardy may as well do pizza adds!
  4. Cattermole oh he's like Richie Wellens on valium
  5. No I can't calm down why the hell didn't Puel play his strongest team?- we would then have half a chance you feel. I can only see one result here and defeat will not put us in good frame of mind for the Christmas fixtures.
  6. let's calm down guys and don't get wound up before the game. Plenty of time to jab away at the keyboard when we give up possession and sit back. Oh and we don't have the super fast complete counterattack unit to hand. i am not hopeful but let's see eh!
  7. Who are the penalty takers? I guess he can sub on Vardy and Mahrez if needed.
  8. What no Slimani. Surprised at that one I guess Puel picked out the French swear words better than Shakey did.
  9. Didn’t he just do that tonight?
  10. Puel saving the match winners for a tough sequence of fixtures. All at home but all tough ones. Zut alors Monsieur Claude!
  11. I remember when we were 4-0 up at Derby in the O’Neill era and after the game Martin said he would have been more comfortable if we added a fifth! Even he wasn’t taking prisoners. I also saw a game at Prenton Park in the fa cup where Southampton were 3-0 up at half time and coasting. Needless to say Tranmere scored a winner in injury time and won 4-3! It’s not over yet but let’s enjoy it for now.
  12. Thought Ian Wright of all of the so called expert pundits last season was reasonable to us particularly in his support of Vardy on the 606 shows. Overall the press and pundit pack really didn't like what happened last season with us upsetting the big boys. They were choking on their predictions for us to go down and taking them away from their myopic tributes and news time for the so-called "top 4" . You can add Spurs too (as the top 5) to that lot given many believed that they would be their saviours and would overhaul us in last season run-in. How satisfying that was to pull 10 points clear of them last season. This season you can tell they have been waiting for us to take a fall and have been ultra quick in sticking their boots in regarding the Ranieri sacking. They hadn't suffered the absolute dross served up over December, January and February in the league and our slide down the table. Maybe now with Craig Shakespeare, not the sort of guy who is easy to dig, their view may change so it will be interesting to see what happens. What I would really love is for us to knock out Seville and Arsenal and Man City to crash out meaning we are the only Prem team left in the Champions League! What then boys?
  13. Thanks my friend but sadly they are not. I remembered an old lecture I attended with a quote from a veteran Antarctic Explorer who had referred to the merits of Robert Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton and their different leadership qualities. I thought about it and thought it would be good for City and the Birch. I simply plagiarized it to suit ! :-)
  14. “For getting us through the playoffs and winning the League Cup give me O'Neill; for speed and efficiency of movement and a first Premiership title give me Ranieri; but when disaster strikes, your club goes into administration, money needs raising, and all hope is gone, get down on your knees and pray for Birchenall.” Get well soon Birch - we are all thinking of you.
