We need a striker, there's an hour to go, let's get on the phone to Carlos Kick-a-Ball and see if wants to join us. We've pushed Ulloa, Musa and nearly got Slimani out the door so come on let's see someone come in and make sure we're not 14 seconds behind the deadline!!!

Worst performance of the season. Real questions all over the park and we should have lost 4-1 against in my view a poor team. I knew this would happen after today's transfer farces. Now we play Swansea when they will be cock-a-hoop after their win over Arsenal, This will be an important match and I fancy lumping on to the Swans to insure compensation on a miserable saturday.

I fear it will be 3-0 in first few minutes, game over ********

Where's Andy King when we need him? Need more square and backwards passing. I don't know whether to laugh or cry but we need someone to get hold of things and inspire. No one is doing that ifs

Defo loss tonight after Mahrez affair today. There on bad form we’re on a roll so it will be all change tonight. Sorry lads ?

Man City make £50million offer for Riyad Mahrez?
oxtonfox replied to LCFCb0y's topic in Transfer Talk
To be fair the guy owes us nothing and indeed Leicester will have made a tidy profit out of him. I am pained to see him go as many others are saying we won't see another like him with that level of skill and brilliance probably in my lifetime but business is business. Let's get to the FA Cup Final and win that then he may regret leaving as soon as he did. -
Man City make £50million offer for Riyad Mahrez?
oxtonfox replied to LCFCb0y's topic in Transfer Talk
Yeah but not so fast. Do you think Mahrez was listening to the pundits (Danny Murphy etc.) on Match of the Day who were saying Diabete looks the natural replacement for Mahrez? Then he thinks? maybe I can go now, I'll hand in a transfer request... -
Got to be Millwall or Rochdale away. Hopefully the lions so we can get even after last year. I say away cos I can’t remember the last time we had a home draw. I think Newcastle in 2014/15 great escape year 3rd round 1-0 Ulloa ?

Watford (H) post-match thread (2-0 home win)

I fear that Nach could end up like Jermaine Beckford. Talented yes but equally frustrating and possibly has attitude issue. I hope that’s not the case here cos he’s young. Needs to listen to Albrighton who had to wait till end of Pearson’s great escape season to get a crack. -

Watford must detest Mahrez as I think he’s now scored in 5 out of the last 6 games against them. Class... -

Agree the lone striker role against a bunch of bruisers is a thankless task. I can’t fault the effort and he has the nuts to take a penalty when we were missing Iborra and Fuchs as possible takers. His commitment to the club should be welcomed too. Nice one JV. -

Depends on whether any team other than Bristol win the Carabao Cup and one of the current top six win the FA Cup. If that’s the case 7th is good enough for Europe. Course I’d rather we won the FA Cup and did it that way. :-) -
Leicester vs Fleetwood (FA Cup replay) match thread
oxtonfox replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m a little concerned about the lack of attacking fullbacks in our lineup. There’s a big onus on Dem and the skipper to conjur something up here. Our two Iberian centre mids are hardly workhorses so who’s going to get the ball back when Benny or Jako punt it long? And I hope we have named our penalty takers l! Sorry for negativity but that’s where I begin with Leicester City. -
Leicester vs Fleetwood (FA Cup replay) match thread
oxtonfox replied to MC Prussian's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes a mere £80m plus on the pitch and a paltry £36m or so on the bench. That should do it don’t you think? -
I sensed after 30 secs watching the game that we were 1) not up for it and 2) it would be a long and hard afternoon. We were off the pace everywhere and I was surprised we snaffled a replay. I stuck £100 on for us to win the FA Cup and I feel that is as good as gone given our p*ss poor performance. As to the draw it may not matter cos I remember going to see Huddersfield at home when they beat us in a replay. Unless we take it seriously we are wasting our time. I'd like Forest away but I am not sure we will get that far. :-(

Riyad Mahrez - The great Artist
oxtonfox replied to The whole world smiles's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sky bet go 4/6 that Riyad goes to Liverpool with some of the Coutinho money. I think this means he’s going. I sure hope we have a replacement lined up. Somehow I think we haven’t. -

Fleetwood Town (A) 0-0 FA Cup 3rd Round

I actually compelled by missus to watch the match - she doesn't follow football. She went to do her nails after an hour. That was awful, awful. We are dead lucky to still be in the competition. When Ihenacho backed out of that challenge near the end I chucked my mug of tea at the wall, Fleetwood nearly scored. We were utter rubbish virtually every player and as usual we couldn't keep the ball against a League 1 team. That says it. -
O hope you are right but I have a feeling this could be a repeat of Millwall. Scrappy rubbish, backing out of challenges and they get a last minute winner from a defensive cock up.
-
That was innately poor. We are not getting second balls, failing to get hold off the ball anywhere significant. We look shaky at the back. No real threat upfront Slimani losing out to Bolger. If Fleetwood get among us they will score. Garbage
-
At least Puel can genuinely say “with qualitay” a couple of times in his match report. He mixed the team up a bit to good effect but hats off to Maguire, Ndidi and Albrighton for playing virtually every minute in the looney Xmas schedule and all 3 did well today. Mahrez again the playmaker so let’s hope he stays as I think the combo with Silva will be interesting for us. Happy New Year all forum fans
-
Here's the plan - Kasper to launch it Slimani who will get beaten by Udders' centre backs; holds up his arms after twenty minutes not getting what he wants. Huddersfield get at us, win the second balls, boss the game and score twice. We get a stupid petulent sending off and game over. Silva on for a fifteen minute cameo and pulls a hamstring. Cue pandimonium.

1-0 and a Harry McGuire early goal will do me. Let’s shut Merson and Lawrenson up shall we.
-
Yes me too. In 1981-2 Jock Wallace I think was manager. we were promoted the season before and were on an awful run and rock bottom of the league. Liverpool we’re flying and had all those great players, Dalglish Souness Case McDermott etc. Needless to say we went 1-0 down early then inexplicably we equalised and to cap it we got a second goal in the second half. For the last 25 minutes we defended against waves of reds attacks. We had completed the double against the champions that season having beaten them in the home fixture 2-0 in the second week of the campaign. It was like Swansea doing the same to Man City this season! According to their supporters after the match they had a bad day and took us for granted. They then went on a long unbeaten run and we got relegated! A silver lining on a black cloud of a season. I hope it it happens again but can’t see it to be honest as we’re beginning to look clueless again.

Silva can’t play. A week too early.
