Stoke (A) 21/02/26: Pre-Match Thread

I'd love it of we beat them... 1-0. Memories of the Garry Parker volley in the 2nd leg of the play offs when we beat Stoke then Palace in the final under O'Neill... -

5 points adrift of the playoffs is the statement of the season, it seems every team is only.... A couple of wins and it will apply to us. (not really I know) -
Given our current circumstances, he seems a decent appointment. He is more of a painter and decorator manager than a pure artist. Hope he uses some gruff lower league, honest words to the shirkers. He will be able to spot them if he hasnt already cos christ we have. Hopefully he can organise this calamity of a defence aswell.

I think it's the only way we will get points at this rate, to appeal the six point deduction and get some back.
-
Yes you’re probably right. Unfortunately that’s the world we’re in these days, scant reward for the hard working achievers.
-
Oh yes of course because “We promote next season”. Still a chance then for Russel Martin and the tippy tappy return for 2026/27. If Rowett keeps us up he should stay longer in my book..We’ve got to realise just how far we have dropped in levels. Staying up will be a massive achievement with the fragility of this group of players.

I got a nasty feeling it will be a terrible game with neither side looking like scoring then they’ll get an injury time winner due to the inevitable Leicester defensive mistake or a worldie deflected shot. “We deserved better” “I was pleased with the effort today”. “We go back to the training ground and go again” bollox. -
Worcestershire technically. Seems a decent bloke, and his accent has been watered down given his travels even a bit of Bermondsey in there I think. What I did detect is a bit of Dyche style gruffness in his lingo. Let’s hope that helps.

We need wins not draws my friend. It has the feeling of the tweet “Ranieri? really?” However, he’s an ex-player and has a decent championship record as manager. Just hope he can manage this lot. With this club, It will be his biggest challenge for sure…

Thinking of the tabloid headlines when the inevitable happens: “2016: KING CROWNED: 2026: KING DECAPITATED” ”FROM TOP TO BOTTOM” ”LEICESTER IN A FOXHOLE” ”
-
You’re spot on with that. PSR was brought in to prevent billionaires taking the likes of Cheltenham Town to the Champions League. What it didn’t really care about was the so called “fit and proper” test or reckless, naive or poorly advised owners spaffing multi millions on dreams. See Chansiri and Kuhn Top together running clubs they believed they “owned” into the cliffs. I’’m not an advocate of overly interfering control around businesses but even we supporters were questioning the multiple millions being wasted on player and manager contracts. One off checks at buy time are not enough it seems.

Administrator will be selling Seagrave to whomever, possibly Derby or Nottingham Forest. A knockdown price though…
-
Just who would possibly buy this club now given the debts building up to McQuarrie and the state of free fall?. I fear bankruptcy, administrators locking up King Power and us demoted to conference north division and playing home games at Northamptons Sixfields, if we’re lucky. There’s always the Leicestershire Senior Cup as a trophy target…
-
There are similarities with the silence from the board to the manager with 12 months ago and Ruud. We went on that horrendous run of successive defeats, not scoring at home before relegation was confirmed six games before the end of season. Looks familiar…
-
The club are a disgrace chucking Andy King, with no managerial experience, under this freight train to manage a bunch of hapless, gutless and weak willed excuses. See you all at the march…

Southampton 2-1 Afterthought FC, post-match thread

A very hang average Southampton have competed the treble against this team this season and we’ve more or less gifted it to them. Laughable -
Southampton v Leicester - FA CUP - Saturday 14th Feb 3pm

This will be the dullest game of the 4th round (after the Tuesday night farce). We have less clean sheets than a Bangkok Brothel. 1-0 Southampton. -
Realistic Managerial Replacements
oxtonfox replied to winteriscoming's topic in Leicester City Forum
We should sell bloody Seagrave now. To Derby/Forest whoever. We’ve been on a downward trajectory ever since it opened and as Pipes said “no hunger in paradise”. Get back to Belvoir Drive, muck and bullets, sausage and chips, share with the women and bring in the Dyche. He’d sort out our defence for a start. -
Need to change the caption to… WE RELEGATE THIS SEASON. 😢
-
I found it unbelievable, he seemed just so casual about it. Clearly the defeat doesn’t appear to have affected him like it does the fans. Symptomatic of many of the players and the leadership and why we are where we are.

yes - another Ricci error sadly. -
Jamaal Lascelles joins on deal until end of season - Official
oxtonfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
It’s just typical of us that we’ve signed 4 players in the window and none of them are fully match fit. Jamal is good but we can’t afford a month or so for him to get up to speed. It may be too late by then. -

Matt Piper saying “He doesnt want to do his summariser job next season” . It’s got pretty bad here isn’t it. -

The reason we’re on here is because we do care. That’s our problem sadly. -

Listening to Matt Pipers meltdown on RL. I’m glad someone is calling it.
