  1. They are but the pub was alright
  2. State of those penalties
  3. "Well I know it's bad Del, Begovic is injured, Stolarcyzk is making errors, they don't seem to fancy Vietes.....the only other option is French" "I don't care where he's from Rodders, he can't be any worse than the others"
  4. And by comparison this is us….
  5. If he starts vs Watford there has to be a protest, either turn our backs on 9 minutes or stay in concourse for 9 minutes (or stay at home and have 9 pints so you don’t have to think about him). Give Daka a run of consecutive games or put Mukasa up as a 9 / false floaty 9.
  6. Replace the first “Ole’’” with “A*se” and there will be thousands of donations towards it!
  7. Or maybe just the toilets, that would be more appropriate. Also a sponsorship of the local walking football league in his name.
  8. A real old one for you:- 3-0,, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0 - 3-0 3-0,, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0, 3-0 - 3-0
  9. I can’t say he was awful at everything he did….because he didn’t do anything. You know when sometimes a stray plastic bag gets blown onto the pitch. Well that plastic bag had a higher XG than Jordan Ayew. The lack of any contribution from our centre forwards or number 10’s today was bewildering…were they on the pitch?
  10. It’s because we’re not Linkin’ our passes together
  11. Someone in our section was giving Davis flack from minute 1, it obviously rattled him
  12. That’s what we do, when opportunity knocks we have our headphones on, when things look there for the taking we shoot ourselves in the foot. The form expectation is a City win, I’m not sure we’ll manage that but maybe not lose either. 2-2
  13. If it had been Slimani taking shots at Claudio he’d miss!
  14. In around 4 months time I might need a handyman to tidy up my wall, it has some deeply scored tally marks in it and the words “Hate Him”
  15. I see that Chair guy still plays for them, he’s been there a while, become a part of the furniture. A preferred option to using the bench.
  16. Iborra - “He came from sunny Spain to live on Saffron Lane, Iborra” ( Sung in the key of C major with a diminished 7th & influence of 12 pints of Stella on vocal cohesion and clarity)
  17. On paper WBA and Blackburn have tough run ins, however you have to factor in that it’s a bonkers league and that there may be some “on the beach” opponents, not many whilst the play offs are in reach for some but once they’re not momentum can drop / collapse. Also play off certainties rotating and resting players before the knock out ties.
  18. Watching the goals Spurs conceded, the keystone Cops are going to sue for breach of copyright. Got me thinking about Spider Kalac and also Danny Ward against Wolves where he apparently asked to be subbed at half time. At one point after the 3rd goal vs Bolton (?) Kalac sat in the box motionless, head in his hands (until he dropped it) I thought “he’s not getting up, there’s no way he can carry on”. Not subbed off, no team mates reaching out, thousands of miles from home, left to face it and get on with it. In his next appearance for us at Wembley, ironically subbed on, he was absolutely faultless and his mere presence was pivotal in our win .
  19. Hi Ben Nelson, welcome to the forum! It’s like one of those coin drop machines in the arcades, you want it to go straight down and land behind a stack of coins but instead it flys off left and disappears down a shaft at the side .
  20. IF we can stay up and IF we can then sort our permanent managerial situation quickly I'd like to think he'd sit down and talk with him about the season ahead and plans before deciding but my gut feeling is if Coventry go up they'll be making an offer to him, Lampard has already spoken positively about him and I hate to say it but it looks a good fit with their squad, location and everything, he wouldn't be their superstar in the PL but along with the others on the steep learning curve with that bit of known quality about him and time on his side.
  21. I'm just surprised there would be a trigger clause for less than we paid. If he, his agent and us agreed he was a promising young player worth what we're paying at the time why would we set his future sale fee to be less than that? I would have thought 5 million more would be more appropriate. I get all the amortization stuff that it'll be OK on the books etc now but shouldn't we have been looking beyond that and look to make a profit if he leaves (at the time of writing the clause), particularly when they haven't stuck to their part of the bargain and stuck around to play for us for the duration of the contract? No clause no signing perhaps but we've given him a years showcase in the PL and jokes aside about the rest of the hopeless mob, he would have benefited greatly from the experience of playing behind Vardy, not many young footballers get to serve their initiation around a legend. Maybe the truth is we need him to go, we need the money and he doesn't want to be here. Such a shame that around 16 months ago I was saying with Hermansen, Khannous and Fatawu we had a young trio who could be our future for several years to come.
  22. Now stick them all in Vardy’s oxygen chamber thingy and don’t let ‘em out til Saturday, no training ground injuries, viruses or fall outs and we have a good chance of another win.
  23. What you need to understand is that even when not involved these players benefit us as their very presence puts pressure on the others to perform in order to keep their place (my theory on the relevance of Inler on our PL win - made Drinkwater play his b*****s off) - hence the recent outstanding form of……..oh hang on the argument falls apart now
  24. Knows the league, knows the level, knows what’s required, knows what works and what doesn’t. Marti should have known these things too coming from Q.P.R. But maybe he thought the, ahem, “premier League quality” in the squad would negate the need to be hard working scrappers .
