We beat West Ham on 28th December 2019 where Ndidi only played 20 mins at the end? Nacho and Gray scored both goals before he came on. -
Fulham (A) 3/2/21 6pm Pre-Match thread
talking_goldfish replied to Corky's topic in Leicester City Forum
Sorry to take this pre-match thread on a tangent but some people on here need to give their head a wobble! Our second choice DM is getting some proper stick for no reason whatsoever. I'm pretty sure no one said Mendy is better than Ndidi because that just isn't true, there were people calling for Mendy to keep Wilf out of the team at the start of the season (but though you may have a short term memory loss) that was because he was playing rather well at the start of the season! Just to jog that memory of yours, in the first 9 games where he played the majority of the match his record was won 7, lost 2, where we beat teams such as Arsenal and Man City - not bad for a player who doesn't get in to any other team in the Premier League. As others have said we are never going to get a player of Wilf's quality, where we all agree he is one of the best in his position in the division, to sit on the bench. I've seen comments about the fact that Mendy wouldn't get in to some PL first teams with comparisons to other teams' first team players, and whilst I don't agree, why can't we compare apples with apples and compare Mendy to other teams' bench players? Rant over, let's just win this bloody game. -
They're kidding no one, this is the real reason they wouldn't allow him to go to WBA!
-
Are we really signing AMN to be used as a midfielder? He doesn't have much experience there according to transfermarkt (nor many goals / assists).
-
From Ornstein: Just what we need. To clarify, AMN wants to be used as a midfielder.

Who said this was going to be easy pre-match?! -
Just reading some of the stuff from Bielsa's press conference and he really does talk some proper crap. You've got to feel sorry for his translator - to be fair he looks more than impressed in the image taken at this presser..! https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/marcelo-bielsa-every-word-leicester-19727098

Far too much positivity on this forum which hardly ever results in a win! Think this will be a lot tougher than last time, Leeds (on their day) are an excellent team who will press, press, press til the cows come home. They have the best pressing stats for the defensive third, middle third and final third - that's just insane! You would assume therefore that this would be the game where Vardy gets back on his game and gets a goa.. oh. If we catch them on a good day then we'll have to be right at the top of our game and without Ndidi Mnsr Mendy will need to play out of his skin. I don't think we should start Under as we'll need a bit more defensive clout so would start Albrighton for this, but will hopefully see Cengiz in the second half to open them up a bit. Whoever said their keeper is no good is just wrong, Meslier is a top, top keeper but he's young so does make a few mistakes. Some of his saves though are top drawer. Having said all that we're going to win 10-0 with everyone scoring bar Kasper (who has a goal wrongly awarded to Nacho in the 93rd minute).

Very true, and some players just play better in another team (Kramaric-ic-ic is now a wizard on the pitch). If we sign a player it's because we've scouted him and believe he will fit into our team, so if we really are interested then I'd be interested to see what he can bring. It's just interesting the amount of fans who'd be happy for him to go, but like you say our Youri () had the same treatment from the numpties at Monaco.
-
Yeah I see your point! But most players we've got rid of that we thought were turd didn't end up doing much, except Kramaric but we never said he was terrible just that he didn't fit into our team (at the time).
-
...And in that dream We played like poo, Under lost the ball and Then they scored a goal Because without Albrighton Our right sides got a hole...
-
Looking at the replies to the original tweet the fans don't rate him and would be pleased to see the back of him for a fee. Usually the fans are the best judges of a player and for that reason.. I'm out.

Now this today is a proper game, which really could go either way. I've had a quick gander at their forum and they're pretty confident that even without Allan or Doucoure they've got enough to win this, especially as we are without JV. I've also read through the posts on this forum and it would appear we're pretty confident too that even without JV we've got enough to win this, especially as they are without Allan and Doucoure(!) One thing we can all agree on is that this is in the balance and whoever wins it will feel they can go on a run and maybe even claim that Top 4 place - I'm just a-praying it's us that takes the initiative. Our next 5 Prem games are pretty comparable so I think the momentum gained from the win here could be really beneficial. Our Next 5 PL Fixtures Leeds (H) Fulham (A) Wolves (A) Liverpool (H) Aston Villa (A) Everton's Next 5 PL Fixtures Newcastle (H) Leeds (A) Man U (A) Fulham (H) Liverpool (A) As for me, I'm bricking it and will be during the game every time we give them a corner and that weasel Richarlison falls over in the box. I do think we'll win but I'll prob watch half of it through my hands!

Premier League 2020/21 Thread
talking_goldfish replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think the reason is that many medical professionals really want temporary concussion subs so they can properly assess a player without impacting on the game. So you'd have a clash of heads, sub those players straight away so they can be properly assessed and then brought back on after 10 mins or so if cleared to do so. The fear is that if you have an important player who may or may not be concussed then the temptation would be to leave them on without a proper diagnosis by a doctor. -
Premier League 2020/21 Thread
talking_goldfish replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
In the main, this is a great idea, although it would surely be an idea for head injuries to have an independent doctor who can do a quick check for concussion before a team decides to make a concussion sub (or not). Without this, as I understand it, with both teams allowed 2 concussion subs during a game and the opposing team allowed to make a substitution at the same time both teams could in theory make 7 (yes, SEVEN) substitutions per game - 3 normal substitutes + 2 concussion subs + 2 subs at the same time as the opposing teams concussion subs! Worse than that we may well get to a situation where a team who have a particularly weak bench against a team with a strong bench may decide not to take a player off for concussion so the other team don't gain an advantage. Hopefully therefore it will be up to the doctors to decide who is concussed and who isn't. According to the Telegraph: The tunnel doctor is appointed by the home team, but is supposed to be independent Another Telegraph article has a neuropathologist arguing that this implementation is like "putting lipstick on a pig", owing to the fact that he doesn't believe they will have long enough to assess the injury. -
Danny Simpson will be on the panel for Sky tonight, which means I may even tune in before kick off.

LCFC Women To Go Professional
talking_goldfish replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's looking more and more possible for us to make the huge leap to the Women's Super League and even reach the League Cup final in the process (Bristol City are a WSL team but rock bottom after 11 games without a league win all season). Crazy since we've never even been top of this league before! Big game coming up away to Durham (2nd in the league, 3 points behind us) on Valentine's Day which will likely go a long way to deciding the eventual winners of the Championship. -

It looks like the top of the table clash away to Liverpool will be live and free on the FA Player on Sunday at 2pm. Huge game this, win it and it will be a big help on the way to our goal of reaching the WSL. Liverpool have just binned off their coach a few days ago though so not too sure what to expect, but will definitely be tough. -
You would have thunk so with their match now off, but Maddison and Vardy are now out for this one anyway. Sounds like Rodgers actually wants to go for it in this competition: Although I guess "the strongest team to win the game" is open to interpretation when the game is against Stoke who most likely will be prioritising the league.
