  1. You don't think he's good enough to be 5th choice in a Premier League squad So by your reckoning there are 100 centre midfielders better than him in the league?
  2. You really do have a problem with him don't you. He's an honest player who is adequete cover as 3rd/4th choice. Who are you expecting us to sign to be happy to be a squad player? We signed Silva and Iborra to go ahead of him and we already have N'Didi. I'd take James over someone who'd come in at a similar ability, for a fee, most likely on higher wages, who isn't as committed as James.
  3. For a midfielder who's likely to be 3rd/4th choice, he's adequate. We aren't a club lucky enough to have 4 or 5 high end Central Midfielders. He's an intelligent footballer and if he were to come on at 70mins to manage a game, he's very capable. Who's to say Iborra or Silva will be any better? James would suit the continental game very well and may come with the same reputation had the roles being reversed.
  4. To be fair, Arsenal are club who are run like a profit making business. No doubt they would have funded the majority of Lemar's fee through club profit or selling Sanchez and maybe another (possibly Chambers) should they have been successful with their approach for him.
  5. Surely that can't be real. It barely makes sense!
  6. Has anyone seen the film Draft Day? This seems like how we used Deadline Day, but we went in blind without foresight or planning.
  7. If he's settled around Leicester, happy at work and earning more than enough money to see him and his family comfortable for many years, why on earth would he leave. He's played his football, he still makes matchday squads and gets game time. He's highly regarded at the club by players, management and supporters. He's won more than he ever would have imagined with this club. He still gets minutes for Wales too. Would you risk unsettling your family and leaving 'home' to earn a similar amount of money, risk being less happy at work with unknown management/colleagues, be at risk of moving again in another couple of years? I certainly wouldn't and that doesn't show lack of ambition. Maybe he's in it for the money... or maybe he's just extremely happy where his is in life right now.
  8. Depending how much he wants a big move, he might not sign another contract.
  9. Are you speaking for all Yorkshire folk there? You big potato
  10. That team looks tiny!!! Lovely kit though, but where's the gold
  11. His head had gone after getting booked and being tackled at the edge of the box. Should never have given the referee the opportunity to send him off.
  12. Jordy Clasie told he's surplus to requirements at Saints.
  13. Do you really think professional football is as simple as that? ''No point training this week lads, just make sure you're there on time on Saturday and try and lay off of the takeaways. Simple!''
  14. Pre-season games are played to help gain fitness and fine tune your playing style for the coming season. Simeone isn't going to waste an opportunity to try out some fringe players in Atletico's system, to play an attractive game which they'll never adopt in a competitive game. I'd hazard a guess their fans would rather see them challenge next season after a solid pre-season rather than be entertained for 90mins in a nothing game.
  15. Seems a fair price, our owners have shown they seem to give managers a fair crack. Sousa and the Pearson sacking/reappointing saga aside.
  16. I get your point, but they can only sign players who they could've previously signed for £100-150m combined. Massively inflated transfer fees doesn't mean they'll get a player of higher quality.
  17. Got ya! Trippier isnt worth £3.5m Walker isn't worth £50m. Trippier is good, however I do feel Spurs have become weaker in that position with Walker leaving, which seems obvious to everyone bar Spurs fans. I guess they're happy that Levy has pocketed £50m.
  18. Nobody has said that. Everyone on here has said Walker isn't worth £50m, and you've got Trippier worth £7m from where?
  19. I reckon we'd have been straight back up if we'd gambled and tried to keep a good core of players. I think a good few would have stuck around too providing we made a good managerial choice.
  20. He doesn't condone the similarities? My point was that a few replies had said they look similar and in reply some suggestive remarks were made. Regardless of the newspaper article, people can have the opinion on someone looking like someone else without any malice. Maybe people have previous on that matter which I'm unaware of, so I'll leave it there.
  21. To be fair even Stormzy acknowledges the similarity and uses it for a lyric in one of his songs. It's extremely poor journalism from the Herald but let's not make (indirect) accusations about people on here on the basis that two people genuinely do look fairly similar.
  22. Nowhere near the best player to wear a city shirt. Good, but not that good.
  23. I don't know how much he's been paid, £100-150k was mentioned on here, but the most recent figure mooted was £65k. Either way, it is a lot for a 33(?) year old on a 3 year contract, I agree with that. I hardly think Howe can be slated for this though.
