Late Ipswich goal to confirm promotion?
-
Not in a million years unfortunately!
-
The players will definitely enjoy it. Many weren’t here last season or were outcast by Rodgers. They won’t see it as, we shouldn’t be here and the job is done. As fans, I think we should be proud of the club (ignoring the obvious flaws) for not capitulating and damning us to years of EFL obscurity.
-
The sweetest part is, last nights result gave them a glimmer of hope. The pain will be prolonged and they absolutely hate the play-offs!
-
Touché
-
FWIW… the two options you provided aren’t mutually exclusive!
-
I hope you’re right. Surely a transfer embargo means you can’t sign a player who’s under contract. You then look at free agent. Anyone currently at the club, who’s contract is due to expire, is essentially a free agent, meaning they’re fair game for us to negotiate with.
-
Because it’s horrendous.

Chair keeps us top of the table!

It’s important for the club that we achieve promotion. It’s come to a point where it’ll be relief rather than a celebration for me (if it does happen). If there’s an open top bus parade, it’ll be almost like we’re celebrating a failure (relegation and scraping promotion from a commanding position). That’s me speaking from a perspective of someone who thought we might even get relegated again.

No. His brother Andy refs in the PL. He’s not too bad thankfully. -
Southampton 5-0 post match mutual touching frisky party

We pretty much gave them the initiative from the restart too. Without that I doubt they’d have laid any sort of a glove on us (not that they really did). Briefly looked like we might be in for a long second half. -

Southampton played like what it seems we’ve been playing like recently. Granted we haven’t been pumped 5-0. -

Enjoy the playoffs Russ -
That’s a disgusting challenge. Even had a kick with his other foot as he’d gone through!
-
That’s it lads, set the tone early doors!
-
They had control of possession but wouldn’t say they were controlling the game. We’ve had them pinned back for the majority.
-
Seeing how he’s following Adams, I’m surprised they haven’t dragged him out and used a runner into the space.
-
Does anyone actually dislike Warnock on a level that matches the stick he gets. He’s the OAP version of what Vardy is to us.
-
We need at least 4 to be able to relax

Yeah fair comments.

Yeah just the look towards your mates after they concede is priceless. No I get you, usually it’s a case of, we’ve gone for a few pints and someone has a ticket so I’ll just end up going down. Brilliant experience, felt like the whole stadium was looking at you but in reality, nobody even knew you were there. Atmosphere used to be electric with Stings for Yasmin playing. I absolutely hate Leeds by the way Anyway… what a result yesterday. 1 step closer!

Done it plenty of times, it makes it worth it when they lose. Used to go often and ball boy back every now and again in the days when they were in the EUFA Cup and Champions League. Went to a game this season, Leeds Norwich, genuinely the dullest game I’ve watched in a long time as a neutral. Left after about 75mins. Completely understand what you and @sharpylcfc are saying but if there’s a ticket going last minute, I would tend to take it if nobody else is wanted it. The smugness I can walk out with can be brilliant Away games, when all your mates are going, really does feel like you’re missing out sometimes if you don’t go. Not to say I follow Leeds up and down the country, I really don’t. But a day out is a day out every now and again.
-
Surely the club knew they’d already broken the rules, so being another £1/2m over wouldn’t have made a difference financially. We really could’ve done with someone to allow rotation of the midfield.
-
Klopp won’t be there either, so they could see a change in style depending on who comes in.
