I’m watching our game on tv while my gf is watching Liverpool v Leeds on the iPad. I have just shouted so much at the screen because of Luke Thomas that I think she believes I’m genuinely having some kind of breakdown. Then she saw the replay of the goal and understood. I then told her we signed him to a new contract in the summer and now she’s nearly as incredulous as me.

Luke Thomas. Good lord. I keep thinking he can’t get any worse and then… here we are.

James (a rarity) and Thomas both poor from the corner. But Jakub is so unimposing. I will bet money that Jordan James gets taken off during this game. Probably for Hamza. When we’re 3-0 down. I appreciate the lads ruining my year on day one.

Abdul makes me furious at least once every game. And I know he’s POTENTIALLY brilliant, that’s why it’s so annoying that he makes such stupid decisions.

That’s what every sport and entertainment event does though. So it’s not like we’re deliberately being lied to here*; it’s the industry standard to base things on tickets sold. (* at least not on this point)

Did anyone at the game last night think about asking a steward if this voucher thing was actually true? I mean at least some people got some pizza out of it. The difference in meaning from discussing pizza and Leicester City between now and ten years ago…

I’d put money on him being club captain or vice captain in a year or so’s time. Good attitude and he’s here for the long haul.

Why on earth is the commentator shocked that Faes doesn’t get on the pitch? Does he do any research?

I really hope that this works and gains more momentum over the next week. My only slight worry is that some tickets will have been bought for people as christmas presents so it's harder to imagine people willingly giving them up. (Although what an awful present. Get someone socks FFS)

I have no doubt that we’re completely broke but the “email” is as fake as those ones I get from shipping companies in Africa telling me there’s a box with diamonds in it with my name on if I can send them my bank account sort code and account number. Still, will get a few people talking.

It is absolutely horrible at the minute. And it’s awful that we’ve fallen off in what feels like an unprecedented way from where we were a decade ago (even five years ago). But it’s not the worst. When we’ve had a few years of this before ultimately getting relegated to league one and being stuck there for a few years… THEN it’s worse, because at least last time we bounced back immediately. (That’s right, I don’t think we’ll go down this year. But it’ll be close. I think we’ll stink up mid to lower table for a few years first)

Just got home. That was absolute garbage. Okoli has a slight out for being bobbins in that he hasn’t been playing. Jakub is sadly not very good. How bad is the Spanish keeper to not get anywhere near the team after playing in Europe and La Liga? How utterly useless is Carranza to not get brought on when we’re chasing the game and need attacking options? Someone please sit Fatawu down and tell him that he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is (and presumably people are telling him he is) Defences are terrified of Monga. Why can’t he start a game? Nelson, Skipp and James look like they’re trying. Everyone else can get in the bin. Same post match interview from Marti saying he needs to change the culture etc - basically “don’t blame me, they won’t listen” Then grow a pair and MAKE them listen. It’s your job.

Funnily enough my first game with my dad (he was always working when I was little, when I was older we went to every game together for years) was the Christmas game (December 27 1993) against Watford. 4-4 draw. Everyone looked like they were still drunk. No idea why we didn’t play on Boxing Day that year, just had to google when the game was to check!

My lad wants to go and it means we can visit family as well so we’re going. I’ll say this - much as everyone is saying they’re not going here, there are four tickets left in P2. Was hundreds left when I bought them for the Stoke game.

Shout out to the bloke in front of me (I’d say early fifties) who arrived ten minutes into the game with a woman who was at least twenty years younger than him and dressed like she was going to a club. They made eyes at each other throughout the first half, giggling as she took selfies of them, then came back for five minutes of the second half and left for good. They have absolutely had a better night than everyone else who watched the second half. And arguably a better night than I’ve had for all of my forties.
