  1. We definitely could use a striker. Sure. But **** we NEED midfielders.
  2. They don't even have a Wikipedia page
  3. He means it's been raised numerous times that Nixon is the only source.
  4. Woah. No. Let's not get all Chinese whispers about this. To be extremely clear, three years ago Wahi was accused of punching a woman in the face in a night club. As far as I can tell, no legal action seemed to come of it. This lead an investigative journalist in France to go and do a bit of digging on him to write an article about violence perpetrated by footballers because there had been allegations when he left Caen that he'd been kicked out for attacking a coach. To be clear, he left Caen when he was 15. What the journalist allegedly discovered is that there were actually allegations that when Wahi was 14 or 15 years old he had physically threatened other school kids to masturbate in front of him in the toilets. Again, there were never any charges brought either at the time or when the article was published, let alone any conviction or civil settlement and he himself was also a child at the time of the most serious accusations. Now I'm not suggesting that makes him a nice and wholesome person and I'm not defending anything he may or may not have done. But equally, let's just be clear about what he was accused of at very least.
  5. Only people sourcing Nixon, yeah.
  6. Deliberately not actioning this to be fair I said we'd wait few days before implementing anything and this thread is probably too big to merge or lock so might as well let it run it's course. It'll get a big old Tier 4 (5) tag though!
  7. But he's posted it twice so it must be true.
  8. I don't particularly know who they are, that's why I'm asking. I'm not expecting their full credentials and a list of all their sources, I'm just asking why they were suggested. That's the whole point of this thread. There are journalists working for national newspapers that have a track record of posting extremely inaccurate rumours for clickbait and engagement. There are also respected journalists that are consistently accurate, I'm just asking which category these fall into. And they'll absolutely still be free to speculate to their heart's content. Nothing is going to be deleted that currently gets posted. I think we can plainly see that that isn't true. There's an enormous amount of over-reaction to literally everything that gets posted and that's just within FoxesTalk. I know people that believe pretty much everything they read on the internet, especially people that aren't overly social-media or forum savvy. There are people that haven't been here since 2007 and don't have 12'000 posts that are a lot less forum-literate who do find this place hard to navigate and it difficult to separate credible rumours from absolute nonsense. There's an LCFC subreddit, it's not super active compared to FoxesTalk in any regard (probably because FoxesTalk exists) but it has a rumour tier list for sources. The threads about Tier 4 sources are just as active as the ones for more credible ones. Even here we have a Twitter Transfer Rumours thread for Z list sources and it's a pretty active, 200 page megathread. I said this post was here for feedback, I don't mean to jump on you and shout any criticism or objection down but I do think you're maybe over-reacting slightly? It's not huge changes being proposed it's just a bit of sign-posting to make it easier for more casual posters to dip in and quickly get the latest on rumours. Nothing that's currently posted will be deleted, it's not being suggested that any content be banned or censored and none of the suggestions made are anything that loads of other football clubs' social medias don't do already?
  9. This is starting to take shape. Can I get a bit of info on Mike McGrath, Matt Law, Simon Peach and James Sharpe from the people that suggested them please? McGrath and Law work with Percy yeah? Isn't Sharpe with the Mercury? Going to need some convincing on that front.
  10. There's going to be tags (or prefixes if we don't like the look of those) on posts. You'll be able to see before even clicking on a thread. Mods will update those tags based on the most recent rumour. In long, busy threads we'll pin a recommended post that'll show at the top of the topic with the latest update from a credible source to make threads like the Soulé one easier to follow. If we get a lot of long threads at once (which I doubt) I might try using thread titles to put a status/progress note but we'd have to see what that looked like. Don't want the page to look cluttered and messy and neither does Mark.
  11. Didn't in 15/16 either tbf.
  12. Ngolo Kante is still driving round with David Silva locked in the boot of his mini. Smuggled him straight out the Eithad in his pocket without anyone noticing.
  13. Immediately loaned to Turkey.
  14. FOR FVCK SAKES. EVERY THREAD.
  15. Eh, in all seriousness, someone whose baggage is already out in the open might be less of a liability than someone with skeletons in the closet. Whilst the Caen accusation is pretty grim, he was 15 himself at the time he left their academy six years ago. And neither allegation from three years ago came with charges.
  16. Yeah we're going to do some hard negotiating after the match. JR: Will you accept a tenner? Lens: No? JR: But that's all we've got. Lens: Oh. *awkward silence.*
  17. If Alan Nixon links us to Maximillian Wober now I'll believe it.
  18. Midget Danish goalkeeper... Towering centre back lump from Stoke...
  19. We've signed a work horse Premier League winger on a free signing, we're approaching a Japanese international suspected of being too weak for the Premier League and next up is a known beater of women. The penny's just dropped, Rudkin really has remembered the winning formula.
  20. Tbf it's been like a month since Jakub Moder was first mentioned 👀
  21. Yeah, this one will happen.
  22. He's a 30 year old playing in the second division of French football.
