  1. Who cares man. Turn it on for kick off at 8, mute the TV and just calm down at half time, turn it straight off at full time if we don't win. The analysis is always shit, it doesn't add anything to the occasion, it's not worth your time. Then all you have to do is just phase out Don Goodman for 90 minutes. If you aren't practiced at that by now you never will be.
  2. I wonder how much the atmosphere might inadvertently help us. Smartest way for them to play and the most dangerous thing for us is if they let us have the ball and they press us. They're lethal on the break, they're the best pressing team in the league, they're probably the only side in the Championship I'm anxious about us trying to bait to beat the press. Silliest thing they can do is what Southampton and Norwich have done before them, try and get on the front foot and bring it to us. But this game is probably going to have the loudest and most intense home atmosphere in the Championship this season. It's an evening game, usually the best atmosphere, it's a Friday night, it's Elland Road, it's Leeds hosting the top team in the league and best of all it's near literally their cup final. Not in any arrogant We're Massive sense but in that if they don't beat us they almost certainly will not catch us. Worse, if they don't beat us Southampton almost certainly will catch them. It's a ridiculous occasion and the pressure is already all on them but the crowd are going to be absolutely baying. If it encourages them to get forward, be reckless and attack we'll absolutely crucify them on the counter and I can genuinely see that happening.
  3. I found Bear fantastic. I just really enjoyed the dynamic, the writing, the pacing of it, the performances, the characters. I found all of it insanely compelling and I haven't worked in a kitchen since I was a kid. I can't tell you why I like it, just that I do, and I was immediately very invested in everyone. I'd agree with others, if it hasn't really gripped you by six episodes I'd just bin it off, I don't think it's going to.
  4. That's not really an opinion let alone an unpopular one. That's just an observation and likely statistical fact. Granted, there's probably a lot of implied unpopular opinions as well as layers and layers of classist snobbery you'd like to get off your chest somewhere behind that post. I'd probably have more respect if you just came out and went full @Jon the Hat and said poor people were too stupid to own dogs. That's a level of honesty I can appreciate far more than a pretty thinly veiled dog whistle (see what I did there.)
  5. So amazon prime are the latest to add adverts to their subscription customers and it's infuriating etc, especially as this is the richest man on the planet and he obviously doesn't need to. But I think what I find the most triggering is that it's doing the same shit as Now TV and to a lesser extent Netflix with their spam emails. They're just advertising their own platform.... to their own customers? I don't get it? I log in to Amazon Prime, I already see all the new releases spammed all over the UI and on a lot of streaming services the trailers auto play as you flick through anyway. Why on earth would you annoy your customers with mandatory adverts but then just use that time to promote something they're already paying for? I'm sure some genius has run the maths and worked out it's going to keep more customers than it'll drive away or maybe because they know people pay for amazon prime for the delivery that it's just a way of pinching out a few more quid a month off everyone, clearly Bezos isn't a fool. But it's just so fvcking dumb. I'd honestly feel less annoyed by it if they were just advertising any random fvcking product.

    Daka

I didn't suggest it needed a bruiser, I said it was a hideous miss. What I said was that heading in general is a pretty missing quality in a lot of modern forwards and it wouldn't particularly surprise me at all if nearly any of the strikers we've had at the club in the last decade missed that chance. He almost tried to be overly accurate trying to hit it for that far post when really all he needed to do was just get basically any solid contact on it towards goal. Vestergaard's was even worse. He had slightly less of an angle but way more momentum on the ball to help generate power. Daka's needed to actually be "hit" to an extent, Vestergaard just needed to be properly behind it.

    Yes.

    Daka

He's got an alright track record in the air. Scored a couple of half decent headed goals at Salzburg. Certainly wouldn't say it's a significant strength of his. The header he scored at AFCON was quite Vardy-esque actually. Vards is fairly good at that glancing near post header. But you wouldn't describe Vardy as a significant scorer of headed goals and I wouldn't have felt comfortable betting a sizable amount of money on him scoring that Daka chance on Saturday either. That was definitely a moment to have a Ulloa or a Slimani lining it up.

    Daka

Tbf it's the Daka thread so I assume Daka's. I mean, he isn't wrong. It was very poor and I don't mean to imply with the above that it wasn't. But I do find it boring as all fvck that the man still can't miss a single chance without certain sections of our fanbase still delighting in it and acting like it vindicates their baseless opinions that he's "shit." Especially in a game when pretty much everyone played absolutely hideously.

You can't really defend that Vardy miss, it was horrific by anyone's standards let alone his own. Daka's was extremely poor but it's probably fair to say the art of heading has somewhat gone out of the modern striker. I wouldn't be confident in any of Nugent, Vardy, Okazaki, Iheanacho, Musa, Kramaric or Perez scoring that Daka chance as much as they arguably all should. And excusing Vestergaard for being a defender when one of the best values of a towering, twenty foot tall centre back should be his ability to head a ball is a bit peculiar. His chance was probably the best of the lot, all he had to do was NOT aim at the near post and he probably scored, it was hideous. His second we can definitely forgive, he was off balance and snatching at it for a start regardless of his position. The bottom line is Boro was a hideous performance across the board and nobody covered themselves in glory. Hopefully it's a one off because that was the first time this season, even despite other losses, I've felt like I was still watching a Brendan Rodgers side. But Patson Daka is still - despite that showing - contributing 0.86 goals every 90 minutes (as is Jamie Vardy) and frankly that's a superb showing for both of them. At that rate, either would probably comfortably be the league's top scorer had they not had the level of rotation we've had at 9 this year. Anyone that is STILL trying to pick fault with the guy and desperately celebrating anytime he misses so they can run on to foxestalk and go "HA!" really, really needs to find themselves another hobby.
  11. The only reason you can ever "deserve" to win a match that you don't is if you somehow get absolutely robbed by terrible ref decisions or something. If you miss chances you obviously don't deserve to win a game.
  12. Jesus christ. What is our xG, 6?
  13. We have missed three of the most extraordinary chances with Vestergaard, Daka and Vardy. Unbelievable we've not scored today.
  14. To think we should have been two nil up against ten men.
  15. Emptied the bench and Praet is still on the pitch. lol?
  16. Fatawu needs to start adding in more variation. When he first came, he'd often go round his man on the outside and break for the byline. Really dangerous. Recently every single time it's cut back on to the left, cross for the far post. Regardless of how good a move that is, you can't just do the same thing every time.
  17. Comfortably out worst defensive performance of the season. This is like watching a Brendan Rodgers side. Everyone all over the place. That was pantomime villain Vestergaard.
  18. Praet has been extremely poor.
  19. Come on. That's just shit defending. Faes had been superb this year but he just fvcked that up.
  20. That was a proper 22/23 goal. Faes ridiculously over committing whilst playing a very high line and Vestergaard nowhere near quick enough to recover.
  21. Yeah definitely.
  22. Oof. Gotta score that Pats
  23. ****ing dire ref
