  1. Just watch the Man City highlights. Would you not be livid if that Maupay goal was given against your team? How on earth can Toney not be interfering with play when he completely takes out a defender? We had goals ruled for Barnes being offside blocking the sight of a keeper that's less interference than that.
  2. Yep. They definitely look like the next batter up on the conveyer belt of mid table teams spending big to try and attack the top six. Consistent Champions League qualification is the only thing that would let them continue to keep spending as they have. They're going to have to lay off a bit and cope with what they have. They'll also encounter the same problems the rest of us have had where you realise it's now really difficult to sell these players because they're on prohibitively expensive wages and nobody can afford to buy them for what you paid if you do move them on.

    Daka

With two thirds of the season gone, only Mo Salah and Erling Haaland look anything like certain to get to 20. Only 10 players in the whole league have hit double figures so far this year. And it's not just about Daka it's about the team collectively and what we create. Daka has never failed to match or outperform his xG in a Premier League season, I have no doubts that a fit and confident Daka will score for us if we go up but it's also up to the team to provide.

@Dan LCFC actually beat me to it, I'm slacking. But yes it's actually 6.6 lots of 90 which makes it only just shy of 1.0 G/90 which is remarkable. As is, as Dan pointed out, the team's goals per 90 when he's on the pitch vs our average when he isn't.
  5. Daka is, at an absolute minimum, a solid top half Premier League striker. I'll be chuffed if he's still here first game next season. Quality / depth at 8, on the wings and probably improving the core of the defence (actually defensively) would be my priorities.
  6. My missus has watched both this week. That was my reaction. She watched season two first. I don't really go for reality TV or gameshows but I thought it was a pretty neat concept with some mostly sensible people. Then she watched season one. Holy shit. Every two minutes someone's either crying or flying off the handle and their theories are just insane.
  7. The reaction from the Stoke player was absolutely embarrassing. Went down like Mick Foley had smashed him round the head with a steel chair.
  8. McAteer straight up shouldn't have reacted but I really don't want to follow a sport where you get a red card because the other play jumped on the floor and started rolling around because you gave him a bit of a shove in the chest.
  9. By the time we go to Elland Road they could be needing almost a full point a game more than us to catch us, no? Mad.
  10. Some Oatcake on reddit told me we only won because the ref gave us an early free kick we scored from that was a bit soft and up until then they were the better team. You know that expression "must have been in watching a different game"? I swear to God, must be the most extreme example ever. The most comprehensive humbling I've seen this season and we barely needed third gear.
  11. I tell you what might also have won us the game. Playing the first half.
  12. Perhaps but they were absolutely terrible today, it was an awful performance. I'm being flippant and jokey but also with a genuine point - its all nice and good saying "this is the football we wanted to see!" but this is the football we try and play almost every week but its obviously much, much harder when 11 men are just parked behind the ball in a well drilled, well organised shape taking no risks. We've played much, much better organised defensive units this season than Stoke were today and obviously those games aren't as thrilling.
  13. Us playing against a team that can't defend?
  14. Just Scotland things. They tried so hard to Scotland that.

    Daka

The most surprising but low key excellent part of his game in this system has also been how well he drops in and links up with Hermansen, Winks and the centre backs.
  16. This has been a long time coming. Will be very surprised if we don't come last this year.
  17. Good performance but they were comfortably the worst team we've played. Think that might be our best 11 that started today. Really impressed with McAteer at 8.
  18. Lovely goal. Great cross.
  19. Praet with the audacity to complain about that pass but he's completely on his heels behind a defender the fvck is he expecting. Wasn't a brilliant pass from Daka but criminal from Praet.
  20. Nelson is deceptively quick.
  21. Some of Winks passing is unbelievable.
