Desperately needs Winks on for one of those two clowns in the middle. Someone has got to dictate the pace of this game and properly pick it up.

Please god let this be the first and last time he plays Skipp and Soumare together. I'd maybe argue we need a midfielder more than a striker even if this is how we're gonna play. I can't take another season of the centre backs passing it to themselves because nobody has the quality to drop from the midfield, collect it and progress the ball. Winks and Ricardo made it happen. They're the onle ones that have in years.

Worth pointing out we were absolutely gash for the first 60 odd minutes against Cov first game under Enzo.

We have so little quality in the midfield, especially given BEK may very well leave, we absolutely cannot let Winks go unless we're buying.

Of all the players to be given a free roaming role, you gotta say Thomas is an odd choice.

I dunno, maybe the plan is to start them mid week with the view to them getting 90 minutes. If that's the case, resting them today is probably right given we're talking about literal children.

I wouldn't retire it. I wouldn't ever retire a 1 - 11 number to be honest and I think retiring numbers is lame. But you don't immediately give it to one of the least popular players in the squad a couple of months later. Ayew should be getting moved on ASAP not having a figurative torch passed to him. Football fans are sentimental about this by and large, the club have got to know people will care somewhat.

Ayew getting Vardy’s number feels extremely tone deaf and verging on offensive to the fans. I know that seems a bit melodramatic but it kinda is. That number has belonged to a club legend and one of the few genuine world class players we've ever had for more than a decade. He leaves and you immediately give it to a player who isn't even really a natural striker, who nobody wants to be our starting centre forward this year and the vast majority of the fans not only wish we'd never signed but see him as a symptom of our decline. I don't think I've ever reacted, let alone over reacted, to the squad number announcement before but that's made me borderline physically ill. Should be signing a young striker we're investing in and giving it to him.

Wrexham will lose plenty this year I wouldn't worry about that. Southampton we want to drop every point possible tbh. Far more likely to be around us by the end of the year than Wrexham (I ****ing hope.)

Also, why would any of you want Southampton to get 3 points.
