  1. The silence is deafening. I can genuinely see us doing nothing. Maybe a striker in on loan. Think we seem to be in full brace mode trying to ward off further punishment. Also very possible Top can't afford to put as much in this year and they know that in advance. Probably just being doom and gloom but don't think it looks good at all tbh.
  2. I'd sell him for peanuts just to get him off the wage bill. Should never have had a contract extention. If we can get a few million for him as well then absolutely wonderful. My only real fear is that time is running out and we show no real signs of reinforcing. It's okay selling all of these guys but eventually someone does have to come in. The squad might be "big" but it's big because we've got a lot of dross. It's actually paper thin and as much as Choudhury is painfully average, painfully average is actually better than some of our other options. I'd genuinely rather he play than Skipp and Soumare, frankly, and he's probably a better RB option than Justin if the RB is being asked to sit in, be inverted and not get down the line.
  3. Any midfield three with McAteer and Choudhury both in it absolutely screams League One to me.
  4. Mavididi is another one. He always plays with a right attitude, looks pissed off a lot when he scores and plays best when he's got some anger in him. Think some players just need that to psyche themselves up. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if a coach or even a sports psychologist had worked with KDH and encouraged him to tap in to that kinda energy because he plays best when he's somewhat on edge. But fans just have to take superficial shit so god damn personally it's absurd.
  5. Yeah massively, turning down 10m for him always seemed daft. He had a bit of a goalscoring purple patch but lots of players go through odd periods like that where the stars seem to align for them. He was never actually brilliant in his position, what we needed most from our wide players was an ability to take people on he can't do it at all. He's got a really weird skill set. He does seem (or did seem, it's alluded him a tiny bit lately) to genuinely be a pretty composed finisher and his runs ghosting off the ball to find space in behind are actually pretty good. Combined with his work rate and his aggression, he probably reminds me more of a mini-Vards than anything else. But not a single coach / manager in his career seems to have ever really considered playing him down the middle so there has to be something in that. Around the rest of the pitch, he seems too undisciplined positionally and not good enough in the tackle to be a full back, too technically limited to be a winger and doesn't seem to have the football intelligence and vision to really be a 10. Just doesn't seem to have a speciality other than running around a lot so... Honestly strikes me as the best thing for him? Certainly not in a 2 but if he had more of a specialist sitting in front of the defence and a more creative midfielder supporting the attack I could see him given the role to just run free between the two? Probably rather him there than Choudhury against teams we're going to dominate, who has his effort but can't really do much to support the attack? But again, nobody's ever really put him there except Maresca for like 20 minutes when we were desperate. Think if he was going to be considered a candidate for that 8 role seriously, it would have been under Enzo. Now we have Page and Alves as options also I can't really see it ever happening? And he's not a kid, he's about the same age KDH was the last time we were in the Championship? I know guys like Vards are proof you can't entirely judge where a player should be in their development by their age but McAteer has had a much different education and route through football, you'd expect a lot more by now if he was going to have a major impact here.
  6. KDH had had next to zero criticism from our fanbase following relegation. He was one of the players to most avoid any stick, people respected he put a shift in and he was a local lad. He still started the season showing a significant chip on his shoulder, never really appeared outwardly all that happy and when he scored he was cupping his ears to the fans as if we'd spent weeks abusing him. It was a bit odd. But he also seemed to feed off whatever anger it was he was holding on to and his performances kicked on a level, so, hey, whatever he needs to motivate himself I guess? I really don't give a ****. I hate a LOT of our fans, to be quite honest. I don't care how much of a snob I am, we've so many many thick-as-shit, proud-to-be-ignorant chavs in the fanbase with **** all empathy for anyone they actually claim to support, who turn on players at the drop of a hat and claim to have always loved them the next minute if they have a good game. Fickle, childish dickheads.
  7. These websites are complete and utter nonsense.
  8. Looking forward to them selling Trey Nyoni to Fulham for 30m pocket change to help offset their latest 110m purchase while we're still gasping to keep our head above the PSR water.
  9. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c24z6pd29g4o Just swinging by to inject this straight in to @Bilo veins
  10. It's a bullshit story. It's a weird article that keeps appearing copy and pasted with different clubs. Strange. He's barely a billionaire, his net worth seems deliberately obscured and Forbes thinks he's no where near as wealthy as he tries to show. He used to be in charge of the crown fund, now he's just a regular Joe with his own cash. He's obviously absurdly rich he's not "own a Premier League football club" rich and the fact he's deliberately deceptive about his wealth makes him come across like a con artist. Would rather Top.
  11. It's still gonna be ****ing purple innit.
  12. This might be the #1 thing that annoys me about football fans. Just ****ing quit with this shit. The vast, vast majority of you cannot tell if a footballer is "trying" or not and most of you who'll claim you can are either delusional or lying. Most of them will go out there with professional pride and put a shift in. A small handful might genuinely be half arsing it but it's not even close to a majority. Morale might be low, confidence might be low, heads might have dropped and performances might go with it but the idea that they're all just simply not trying at all is plainly absurd in the real world. Get off the ****ing Internet for a minute and touch some grass. (and yeah yeah, Finners has thousands of posts and is saying touch grass, hur durp hur. But if I can manage to do both so can the rest of you.)
  13. We obviously witnessed with Rodgers that there's no such thing as too good on paper to go down and a spiral can be severe. But I have faith enough in Cifuentes, he seems a good human being and a decent manager of people, I can't see him doing a Rodgers or a Ruud. I think he'll get enough effort out of the players to at very least deliver their par. And we're not getting rid of Stolarczyk, Faes, Vestergaard, Hamza, Ayew, Thomas, Mavididi, Soumaré, Skipp, et all and whilst I have doubts that all of those are good enough for promotion in a non-Enzo managed team, they're definitely all too good to get relegated with Cifuentes.
  14. Obviously we COULD. But we won't. The window is running out and there's still more rumours about sales than purchases, we clearly should be worried about the actual position we're in financially because I definitely think it's worse than we realise. But the squad we'll be left with is still far better than the bottom half of this league.
  15. 🤦
  16. I've watched Vardy go out on a pitch and cost us the game in a league match missing a hattrick of sitters. It can happen to anyone. Judging any footballer on a single appearance is stupid.
  17. Can we **** you off instead? "Fans" turning on players because they were thrown under the bus by our worst ever manager. Sakes.
  18. He's an inexperienced kid that's still developing. He's not the second coming of Maldini and at the same time, writing him off as abysmal is ridiculous. Why are some of you so desperate to rejoice in a kid, one of our graduates, having a poor game?

  20. @moore_94 is actually a prototype AI that @Mark has spent years coding to keep FoxesTalk the front line of LCFC updates.
  21. Don't sell Abdul... 🎵
  22. At this point almost certainly yes.
  23. Haha, that's peak Internet arguing that is. You managed a strawman, ad hominen and a good bit of whataboutery in all pretty much one sentence. I've repeatedly said we can't be relying on Daka this season. I've never described him as a baller, just that he's much better statistically than people realise, which is my whole point. Ayew was and is awful as a central striker. The few bits he did against Wednesday that were decent were when he was moved out of that position in to a more free roaming role, ironically behind Daka. The only really "quality" thing he did was a run very much down the right wing from deep. His forward play for the first 60-70 minutes that he was leading the line was not good and literally nobody was singing his praises up until that point.
  24. Ayew was ****ing terrible at 9 and the more people keep saying otherwise the more I'm convinced how many of you don't actually watch the match.
