  1. Who are you and is the real Wymsey alive and well?

    Ukraine

They've been using Challenger 2's in the Kursk offensive (and remember us even providing heavy armour was a previous "red line") and slamming Storm Shadow into Navy HQ in Sevastopol, so not really sure letting them hit miliary targets in Russia is any worse than what's been happening already. I'd hope the plan is to strike air fields, fuel storage etc. rather than dropping cruise miles onto Vlad during his morning ablutions. Can't see the former of those being any more escalatory than what's happening already, the latter would, obviously, be daft. *Edit* The other thought could be if there's a risk of cruise missiles striking more valuable targets in the mainland, it could potentially require movement of air defence closer to Moscow and make targets in the occupied territories easier to destroy.

    Houses

You can. Ours is up the end of this month and we re-applied in April and were told to keep re-assessing with end-June being the latest for new applications. We actually moved products yesterday with the same lender we'd previously applied with in April (£70 p/m less) so there is flexibility to change even relatively last minute if you're not moving lenders.

Aside nagging the solicitors there's not much more you can do. My first property was a flat and it also took ages to complete. LotS of the information comes from the freeholder, and not the seller, who have zero interest in the process moving quickly.

So they actually have some left afloat?
  6. I've been dug in myself and been thoroughly enjoying it again. I was my first MMO addiction and nothing, bar a few years in Eve Online, has come close.
  7. Watching the Irish Open with pure envy. Desperate to play that course.
  8. Might help if there was just a gaming thread covering all maybe? Releases are so far and few between at the moment, the PC master race, Nintendo, PS and xbox thread split doesn't help chatting about games. There's just a single film thread after all.
  9. Something from the inquiry today that seems relevant Peter Skelton KC now addresses the widely-published doubts surrounding Lucy Letby's conviction. For context: Some statisticians have publicly questioned the credibility of some of the evidence against Letby - such as a staffing rota showing she had been on duty for every suspicious death or collapse between June 2015 and June 2016. Skelton says that critics of the case against Letby don’t understand that her conviction was not through statistical argument. He highlights the fact the Court of Appeal refused her permission to appeal her case and that she was convicted because the "factual and expert medical evidence demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt that she had harmed the children at the hospital". Richard Baker KC, who is also representing some of the families, adds that anybody doubting the case "should be ashamed of themselves".
  10. It's all sweet and joyful until they beat you.
  11. Agree he's up against it. Inherited a situation so dire yet people have this expectation we'd all be skipping along on gold plated roads by now. At least we're back to people disagreeing about policies and now the absolute circus we were living in during Boris onwards. I thought they dealt with the riots in a grown up way. Deployed more police and threw these scumbags away so quickly it gave the rest of the clowns second thoughts and stopped it dead. Also didn't crack and recall parliament to give the "whilst I condemn the rioters, they do have a point" crew (Farage, Suella etc.) a grandstanding opportunity. Unfortunately for Labour, they seem to just be fixing the mess that means they can't really do anything positive until they've found out what was swept under the rug. The prisons shambles is a disgrace as the previous lot sat on this knowing it was a problem but felt the only solution was unpopular so buried it. Same for Hunt and his inept budgeting where he'd allocate £300mil to a department whilst promising several billions of output. I found @Tommy Gpost slightly cringe tbh as the Conservatives were blaming Labour for 14 years on global financial crash that want even their fault. To criticise them for blaming the previous incumbents whilst only a week beyond the summer recess is a bit desperate. The winter fuel payment thing is a bit weird too. Given previous form from the Tories, to criticise means tested benefits is so rich it makes me laugh. These were the people withholding benefits to the dying when they couldn't work so the idea they're now the compassionate ones is just plain daft. They're just standing up for their only remaining voter base that they've shielded from their destruction of society for 14 years for purely political means. As I posted earlier, to be against the winter fuel payment being means tested, yet in favour of the two-child benefit is illogical. I said previously that Labour not abolishing that policy immediately is shameful even if I suspect it's coming after this review. I'm actually pleased with how it's going. Their just getting on and fixing the problems in a grown up manner. People can moan about the payrises, but it's cost far less than the damage the strikes are done and the country is better for it. Unfortunately it will take some time for the right wing rags and the remaining Tory apologists to remember what competent government looks like as they've spent so long defending the most corrupt and incompetent government we've had in generations. *Edit* I aim to please
  12. How did you get on, and does it detect unseen feces?
  13. I'll do for BYD what Beckham did for the Sarong.
  14. Will have a look but seems twice the price of everything else of similar spec. Yeah didn't see the EV6 so will have a peruse. Do like my Niro but it's about £200pm more for the same car as they're definitely more mid range cars now. Did drive one of those, and it was excellent, but the front of the car isn't for me. I'm that shallow... I am leaning towards this Seal U as it's similarly equipped and so much cheaper. Plug in hybrid, rather than the pure EV I've got, but the 50 miles of charge gets me to most places I visit day to day.
  15. Be nice to have some cash in hand to go with the triple lock pay rise, free bus pass, free prescriptions and free TV license though wouldn't it?
  16. There was no such thing. *Edit* Aside dancing alone to We Are Scientists at opening to take advantage of the cheaper entry fee.
  17. Just done a test drive of a BYD Seal U. Really impressed and quite tempted when my current car goes back in October. Went to see the Atto 3 but my head touched the ceiling being freakishly tall. Anyone got any experience of these or similarly sized ones that would fall within the company car perk range? FYI, wouldn't be seen dead in a Nissan...
  18. It's usually a Microsoft login so you can do a password reset on another device for your microsoft account.

  20. Democrats restricting bat ownership as well as guns maybe?

Mad ain't it. Could buy a PS3 for that kind of money.
  22. We getting a match thread for later?
