Superb nights these were. Even though it was a reserve game, nothing came close to beating the excitement of walking up them winding stairs and seeing the pitch. (Was even better on a matchday when you were in the kop, those few stops and the smell, the view, unreal)

I think the bigger picture is, it’s June and after a long season they’re playing in a friendly. But then you look at Senegal and what it meant to them and that’s exactly what it should mean to them. Didn’t understand bringing Rogers on up front either. Saying all of this, we started without 6/7 players who would regularly be starting (Pickford, Trent, Stones, Maguire, Bellingham, Foden, Palmer) and I guess it’s what friendlies are for but no one really put a marker down to show they can dislodge any of them.
