What Game Are You Playing At The Moment ?
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot replied to LeicesterBran's topic in Music and Gaming
About 8 hours in and loving Alan Wake. Yes it loves the sound of its own voice but as survival horror games go it’s got its teeth in to me. Story is interesting and it’s genuinely scary at times. The mind board is a bit naff and it over explains things and loves the smell of its own farts but it’s definitely more fun than far creed 11. It’s got its own ideas and you can tell the people who made it had complete creative freedom which is so rare these days. Looks stunning and runs buttery smooth as well which shouldn’t be something to shout about but these days it is. 8.5/10 so far will keep going with it. -
And also the disaster that was gta online, it just didn’t work for weeks and took months and months to actually make it right. There’s no guarantee that gta 6 will release polished. as I’ve got older I don’t buy in to the fanboyism and the hype. I’ve still not made my way through cyberpunk but after I’ve finished what I’m currently playing I will go through that one next. It took over 2 years to properly fix cyberpunk which is a total joke BUT because I’ve waited when I play through it I’ll have the buttery smooth experience everyone wanted day 1 but didn’t get. It’s just how the games industry is now and I as an individual consumer can just refuse to buy or play the copy and paste Ubisoft games or the games with predatory monetisation aimed at kids like Fortnite and fifa and wait until a game is ready to be played rather than a game that’s been released to be played.

Pre orders for games in general I don’t only not get but I don’t agree with because it just encourages developers to continue to deliver underwhelming and often outright broken products. GTA 6 I kind of get though, it’s more than just a game it’s probably the most anticipated piece of media on the horizon in any form.

I phone 15 pro max is 1200 notes so they are. And when you consider the amount and lengths of contracts they’re actually much more expensive than that.

Cost of living crisis.

Thinking you have to live in a socialist society on the one hand and thinking billionaires and food banks and choosing between heating and eating are the only 2 opinions available is a bit… hmmm. Corbyn or trump or be damned. -
My missus has an Apple Watch, an se, similar to a series 4. She loves it, it’s like a mini phone on her arm and she uses it mostly for exercise and as a device to find her actual phone. think that was definitely good value for the 260 quid I paid for it at the time, new, about 3 years ago. She’s never had a problem with it and with general use she gets a days battery out of it, it does need pretty much fully charging every night though, and if she were to use it a lot and not have her phone on her the battery wouldn’t last the entire day, no chance. Is the series 9 worth 375 notes? If you consider a phone now is well in excess of 1k then by that metric, if it’s much better than the watch I have a bit of knowledge about, then probably it probably is if you’re going to get 3+ years of use out of it and are big on fitness and you lose your phone a lot haha. I’ve been heavily hinting I could get a new watch for her for Christmas but she’s so happy with the one she’s currently got she insists it would be a waste of money so if you’re after an Apple Watch and don’t want to pay the premium look for places making space by getting rid of series 7s or that type of generation as I’m sure the improvements are only incremental much like the phones. As someone who doesn’t champion for apple at all, but also has very limited knowledge of the smart watch market, I would definitely encourage someone looking to a get a smart watch who’s already got an iphone to get an Apple Watch.

Taken the week off work so downloading Alan Wake 2 ready to get my teeth stuck in to over the week. Will report back after I’ve finished it, not really played a game since Jedi survivor as can’t get the time, if I enjoy it enough will get it done over the 5 days. -
Whenever they announce a release date it’ll get delayed at least once possibly twice it’s just the way they work. If they announce November next year would be more likely march or November 2025.

I’ve been watching a murder at the end of the world on Disney. It’s very intriguing 3 episodes in and I can’t believe the main woman isn’t related to Jodie Foster a lot of the time it looks like it’s her de-aged.

Dave Bassett opens up on Leicester City period

Leading to the takeover by the kp being the salient point imo. We only achieved what we achieved due to everything that happened in the decade or two beforehand. Without all the mistakes the dream wouldn’t have happened. I remember levien and the likes so even though he wasn’t the messiah Adam’s was a steady hand when we needed it. And we’ve had far worse in only recent memory. -

Sometimes 2 or 3 pints do it for me but other times I can go a bit mad. I’ve realised how much I’ve eaten and how quickly I drink are the big factors for me. I only ever drink lager other than the odd Guinness in pubs. I can drink 8 pints of an evening on a full stomach over 6+ hours and just be merry other times I can drink 6 pints in 2 hours without dinner and be eye rolling bolloxed. I’m definitely getting better I just bloody love beer but I know cutting it right down and eventually out is what I want to do for a myriad of reasons. Mental health, physical health, some months I must spend 300+ on beer so financially it’d be a huge help as well. Think my plan is have a massive blowout over Christmas and then really think about it in the new year. To add I’ve not said or thought that before as far as I can remember, so not one of these ah next year defo or next month defo and won’t beat myself up if I carry on but I think the fact I’m seriously considering it for the first time on my life speaks volumes on its own.

Went out last night for a mates leaving do and got the little one all day today as missus is working. I really want to cut it out but stress and a certain level of dependency makes it incredibly difficult to stop. just cutting down would be a great start, I haven’t drank at home in 2 weeks and defo feeling the benefits. work is a nightmare at the minute and pretty toxic and I get home from work and my stepdaughter is a living nightmare and her attitude towards me is just awful, sometimes the only bit of time to myself I get in a day is popping for one or two after work to unwind. bit crap really.

Control was brilliant. I’d rather a very good and interesting game be up its own arse than play another open world collectathon over and over. Beats a Ubisoft game or a ps exclusive third person action adventure copy and paste any day of the week. Might like the smell of its own farts but at least they do interesting things. -
If only he’d nailed that chance first half. I’ll stick with this bet until it comes in, only a matter of time imo and very generous odds generally given the positions he’s getting himself in either from full back or holding.

My goty is the incredible King Kong game that was recently released. the fact it’s not even nominated is a slap in the face of gamers around the globe. -
Fancy Ricky p for a goal today few quid first 20s and a chunk anytime 15/2 up the blues.

I liked him and I honestly think if he was given a run last year he’d have been better than the cm we did deploy. People saying he was great and people saying he was beyond useless are as near always 2 extremes of a fairly middling truth imo. He wasn’t fantastic but he should have been involved a lot more last year, tidy enough player but no doubt winks is an upgrade.

I’ve got the ninja 15 in 1 fryer, does everything, 3 tiers for full meals and lots of lovely one pot stuff we do in it too. Wasn’t cheap but all the food tastes nicer in it and after however long you’ll make the money back on the energy saved. Highly recommended.

Premier League Thread 2023/2024

Which to be fair is probably about par for our dreadful season. My point though I didn’t really make it was/is if you’ve aspirations of winning the league or being top 4 then a player who might have been slightly above average but probably wasn’t for a dreadful relegated side isn’t the way to do it. -

Which speaks volumes for the other ones more than how good he was. Folded like a wet box under pressure.
