  1. Steve Cooper Pre-Match Press Conference vs Man Utd Injuries? “Jannik is available again. He had a bit of a stutter with his ankle. He’s back with the group. He’s an experienced player. We’ll see what’s what in terms of availability.” Kristiansen? “It’s not too bad. It’s a muscle injury to the groin. It’s going to be a little while but at least it’s going to be days and weeks rather than longer than that. The scan showed it could have been worse than what it is.” Ten Hag? “Whatever level you work at as a manager, it’s a demanding job and the highs and lows are extreme. You feel for managers when there’s criticism and when they lose their job. It’s never nice to see because you know how hard and emotional it can be. It's a high-profile job and the scrutiny is intense.” High pressure job at United? “Any job, you feel the pressure. Once you go to a club, you take on the responsibility of what it means to the people. Whatever the size of the club, you feel it. But we’re all about preparing for a cup game and to get through to a quarter-final. The atmosphere will be really good and we have to try to thrive in that moment. We’re looking forward to that.” How to prepare for an interim manager? “We won’t overthink that. If you do, you can go to loads of places that might be miles from what they do. When you’re up against a new manager, it’s a good chance to show your own qualities and work. There’s even more reason to focus on ourselves. We have players who can have good moments and have an impact on games.” Changes like the last rounds? “Maybe, yeah. The difference is that it’s an away game on Wednesday and then we’re away at the weekend. It’s times like this you have to utilise the squad. All focus is on tomorrow and make sure we’re set on that.” Need to build momentum again after Forest? “It was a setback, but the Southampton and Forest games are great examples of what’s to come. We’ll have games where we get brilliant results, and we’ll have the opposite. That’s the nature of the league. We have to make sure we stay on task. We’re really disappointed how we let the game slip away from us. At half-time, there was the possibility of getting a win. That was disheartening when I watched the game back. But we have to make sure it doesn’t deter us from the journey we’re on. Whatever’s gone has to be used to make you stronger going forward.” Preparations changed because of United change? “It hasn’t changed because if we get our game right, it can have a positive influence on any game we play. We’re striving to get to a point where our play is the dominant play of any game. What we want to do hasn’t changed. It’s a talking point with the change in manager, but it’s not something we’re overthinking or focusing on.” What would it mean to win? “A lot. It meant a lot to get through the other rounds as well. We might have made changes but we believe in the squad. We want to give the right opportunities at the right moments. It’s about a culture you have to commit to every day. Over the course of time, we’ll get better. Our approach to any game we play, we want to be at our best. Our way is to approach any game with the same expectation and performance level.” Change in profiles v Forest? “For sure the first half, once the game settled, we controlled the game. It was two styles against each other. We put ourselves in a position to attack the second half. But that wasn’t the case. We made some mistakes, and not just with goals. We allowed the game to look how they wanted. First half we did some really nice things. We’d like to have been more creative. It was a pity we didn’t capitalise on the position we were in at half-time. The positions were different, but the shape was the same.” Keep playing that way? “That is the modern game. You have tweaks and adapt, but within your ideas. We have done a lot of good things. We just want to be a strong competitive Premier League team. We have to deliver on matchdays. You have to be seen to make progress even when results aren’t what you want. Let’s hope we have more good days than bad days and that’s what will happen when we get it right. I see great understanding and commitment from the guys.” Responding to Forest loss? “It can be harder after highs because that’s when complacency kicks in. When you get a positive result, I get paranoid about working even harder. It’s easy to work hard when you have a setback. That’s the requirement of the job. I’m even more obsessed after a positive result. The thought of thinking I’ve cracked it gives me the shivers. If you don’t like the lows and the setbacks, don’t put yourselves in this world of Premier League football. You’ve got to take it on and try to be consistent. We have to deal with the present and then move forward with the plan.” Benefits of a cup run? “We’d love to have a good cup run. If we have a good cup run, there’s so many good things to be gained from it. The excitement of going to United, winning and getting to a quarter-final, that’s what we all want. What’s coming for the rest of the week, we’ve got to use our squad. I think a cup run would be brilliant for the club and for the players.”
  2. Not going well for Nacho at Sevilla https://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-city-exit-turns-into-nightmare-quick-transfer-on-the-cards/ Leicester City exit turns into nightmare – Quick transfer on the cards Leicester City lost Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer in the summer, with the player wanting to try a new adventure. Sevilla was the chosen club, and since arriving there’s been a never-ending stream of criticism sent towards Iheanacho. Fitness worries have held him back, and there were multiple suggestions that he hadn’t arrived at the club in a reasonable condition. Estadio Deportivo today note that even though things look positive enough for Sevilla as they get away from the relegation zone, that isn’t true for Iheanacho. The 28-year-old didn’t play against Barcelona or Espanyol, remaining on the bench. He has played only 272 minutes in La Liga and the feeling is that the Nigerian isn’t at the required level to play for the Spanish club. As a result, the forward’s future is now up in the air already and he could depart in January. His contract Sevilla expires in the summer of 2026 and it isn’t a long-term deal, which could help the Andalusians to move on the ex-Leicester man.
  3. That is a brilliant save from Leysen in the first highlight 2 very good individual goals from Ikwumesi as well
  4. I would much rather a left full back who is also happy enough to tuck in and be that that left footed centre back in a 3 if needed If(when) we boot Cooper I think it is more likely we end up with a manager who plays "traditional" full backs and we can't then be stuck with them having a choice of JJ, Kristiansen, or Thomas again
  5. Ward Okoli, Coady, Justin Ricardo, Skipp McAteer, El Khannouss, Alves, Ayew Edouard
  6. Can’t even really watch any of ours either to judge them Barely even get highlights now
  7. Shocking Q1 for both Piastri and Perez
  8. You can still tell at times he is only 19 years old with not actually quite that much Prem experience Still been one of if not our best players this season though and will earn us way more points than he loses us - last night will just be a good learning opportunity for him Wont have helped him last night that Forest were seemingly allowed to get away with being all over for him throughout the match as well
  9. Todays Results - Saturday 26th October Championship: Ben Nelson (5.9 - 90 mins) - Oxford United 0-2 Sunderland Harry Souttar (7.5 + clean sheet - 90 mins) - Sheff Utd 2-0 Stoke City Tom Cannon (5.9 - 45 mins) - Stoke City 0-2 Sheff Utd League One: Amani Richards (not in squad - injured) - Exeter City 0-2 Huddersfield Town League Two: Chris Popov (not in squad) - Barrow 1-1 Bromley Brandon Cover (8.0 + 1 goal - 90 mins) - Port Vale 3-2 Wimbledon National League: Brad Young (clean sheet - 90 mins) - Hartlepool United 2-0 Aldershot Town Scottish Prem: Sammy Braybrooke (6.1 - 45 mins) - Dundee 1-2 St Johnstone
  10. No reason to believe that was down to him, seems like they were very lucky to be winning 1-0 at half time in the first place from what their fans are saying
  11. If we have to go with PL experience and currently out of a job, the options look to be: Graham Potter David Moyes Frank Lampard Maurizio Sarri Rafael Benítez Patrick Vieira Roberto Mancini
  12. Leuven currently 2-0 up away against Charleroi
  13. Knew I should've put Wissa in my FPL ffs
  14. There was two beliefs I had when we first appointed Cooper that made me at least slightly happy with him That he would be good for our youth, and that he would be a pragmatic manager with our setups and in game management Now I am left wondering where those two beliefs even came from His willingness to choose players like Soumare on the bench seemingly now over someone like McAteer shows to me he doesn’t particularly care about our academy players - McAteer may not be the best player but he will at least press and put a shift in He also just isn’t a pragmatic manager at all. He doesn’t tweak his teams to play in even a slightly different way depending on the opposition, and his in game management is usually way too late in games to be able to give us a chance to compete (if he even changes how we are playing at all) For me he needs to go because I don’t think we will see him suddenly start learning how to manage in games or how to react to opposition managers changing their tactics - which is also one of the main reasons I think we will never see more than 45 minutes of decent football from us with him in charge
  15. I thought he looked decent for us in the middle with that partnership with Winks in the first half He did struggle against Hudson-Odoi though and then the Forest tactical change in the 2nd half meant neither him or Winks could really do any of that good interplay again
  16. I honestly think the only way he gets dropped or even subbed off with Cooper still here is if he gets injured or sent off
  17. For me it is mainly Facundo that is at fault for the first goal rather than JJ or Ricardo He had plenty of time and space to smash the ball clear and end that period of play and pressure
  18. Hopefully he still wants a move back to Spain by the time January comes around Unsurprisingly the whole ground was groaning again when they saw it was him coming on
