We're apparently wedded to hiring managers who aspire to play Pep ball, and yet we sign a CB who would have made the 1980s Wimbledon defenders look like Maldini on the ball. Beggars belief really. Unless Marti moves away from building up attacks through the thirds, beginning with our CBs, I don't see how Okoli can start in games, irrespective of any attributes he might have, such as pace, physicality and seemingly a good attitude.

Okoli will spend the whole time passing the ball to Hull or out of play. In this situation where we need to pick our way through their deep block that's the last thing we need. I'd get Ramsey, Monga and Ricardo on for Soumaré, Daka and Hamza, and move Ayew up front. Tbh I can't see us coming back in this. Will probably end 3-0.
