Fair play to their late order batsmen here. Really made us work hard. -

This is getting frustrating. Looking a bit toothless. -

Too many seasons of following County have made me nervous of us defending anything less than about 600, even on a minefield! -

He's basically unplayable on this pitch, it seems. Patel has had a stinker of a season. Combining the start of this innings with the end of our first innings, we've now lost 8 wickets for about 40 runs. -

Interesting stat on our innings: Leicestershire's total is the lowest completed innings to include three centuries in the history of county cricket, beating 422 by Essex against Glamorgan at Swansea in 1995. -

Does seem very odd that we've left Cox out again in the CC. Unless he has some sort of knock that means they don't want to risk him in a 4 day game. -

They're already making good progress in response. -

I fear the likes of Jewel and Madsen are going to make us pay heavily for this morning. Derby now know they are right back in with a chance of winning this. -

Didn't even make 400 at all! -

Either the pitch has suddenly turned into a minefield or we've had a collective brainfart. This has now given Derby a chance of still winning this game. -

Agree that it's definitely not worth taking risks just to get the extra batting point. We need to bat long enough to rule out a Derbyshire win. I'd be happy to see us bat the whole of today! -

England's loss is our gain. More than happy for our best players to be playing for us. -

Try to do what Middlesex did against us - get a huge score to put scoreboard pressure on them. We know Madsen will get 100 at least so we need as many as possible. -

The last few weeks have felt like a return to the Leicestershire of old. -

I agree that a gun T20 specialist batsman eg Inglis is what we need next year. Northants have done this successfully with the likes of Lynn and Breetzke, so it shows smaller counties can attract players like this. It always felt like we were a batsman short this season, to be honest, especially with Patel's form being so poor. I really like Cox but I don't think he'd be coming in at 5 for other counties. It's telling that we didn't post 200 in any innings, even though the dry sunny weather has meant that wickets are good and outfields have been lightening fast. Injuries/ absences in the bowling attack have also been a problem. Rehan and Hull were unable to bowl in most of the games and were rusty when they did come back in the last few games. Holland showed what we've been missing from him last night and Mike has also hardly played. The likes of Walker and Salisbury are just not really up to it. Despite all of that, we still might have qualified had we had a competent captain. Kimber was so poor in his decision making for the most part, which cost us badly in several games where bowlers, who had been the most economical on the day, did not bowl their full allocation, in favour of others who had gone round the park. Overall, I still enjoyed the campaign and we were competitive in all but a couple of games. But ultimately we didn't quite have enough to deserve to qualify. -

No other team in world cricket loses that game. Unreal. -

Thrown this away. No way we will defend this score on a wicket like this. It's immaterial anyway as Warwickshire have got 233 against Derby. Kimber's shot to a legside wide has to be the worst decision that I've ever seen on a cricket pitch! -

BBC Weather says it should be dry from around 8pm. So hopefully we'll get a 10 over slog at least. -

We're just missing too many first teamers and our squad is not strong enough to cope. Hull and Ahmed have only bowled in about half of the games, Holland has missed it all and Mike has only played a couple of games. I think this would be our best team: Budinger Patel Masood Ahmed Kimber Cox Holland Trevaskis Mike Scriven Hull Not been able to play this XI even once in the campaign. -

All over. Disappointing. These are a very poor batting side generally and yet they have chased this down easily. Very unlikely to qualify now, I think. -
