Couldn't watch the game but was following it. Gave up with 3 overs to go but the lads proved me wrong! -
Vesty will be starting in defence.

We do seem to gift a lot of wickets by hitting the ball in the air to fielders on the boundary. -

Surely Mulder's bowling is decent too? Tbh, but for too many wides, I thought Mike bowled alright too. Currie and Holland were the problem, bowling a combined 5 overs for 62. -

Always felt like they would chase that down, even though it went down to the last 3 balls. We just don't look like taking enough wickets. Massive game on Sunday - lose that and our chances will already be looking grim, given that we've not even played Warwickshire, Notts or Lancs yet. -
I agree possession in itself means nothing but sub 20% possession means you are basically hanging on for dear life for the whole game. And that's basically what Forest did in many games under Cooper in the PL.
-
Well, it certainly isn't playing 541, having 20% possession and winning 20% of your games, which is what Cooper did in the PL with F*rest.
-
Yes but I would rather dream about what is possible with someone unknown and unproven than appoint someone who has already had a go in the PL and been sacked after winning 20% of his games.
-
I don't think it's true that the Forest connection is the main reason for the majority of folk being opposed to Cooper. Rather that's the cherry on the cake of dismay that we have been reduced to making such an unambitious appointment that seems to go against any pretence to play attractive football, as previously set out in the board's vision for the club. I guess all of the other candidates are too expensive or simply aren't interested, so he's the only option. It's a harsh reality for us to face after the highs of the previous decade.
-
We need the whole club, manager, players and supporters united next season to have any chance of staying up. Appointing Cooper will immediately create a disconnect between the manager and (I think) the majority of fans. These fans will be on his back very quickly, I suspect, which is exactly what we don't need.
-
Hopefully it puts him off then.
-
Deeply underwhelmed by the thought of Cooper. There's nothing to get excited about with him at all. He's already proven his limitations in the PL and, whilst I agree that we need to be pragmatic to have a chance of surviving next season, his football in the PL was honking under that lot up the road. What happened to Top's alleged commitment to see us playing progressive football? In the message above about him being favourite I didn't understand the references to his concerns about safety and security. Does he think his safety could be at risk if he took the job because of his history with (gushing love for) F*rest?
-
Balague off the blocks early propagating his weird Maresca personality cult at Chelsea. He'll no doubt be saying that Enzo was too sophisticated for Leicester and how he needs to be in an "elite" environment, blah, blah.
-
Really, really hope it is not him. His style of play can barely be described as football from his time in the PL.
-
VK never seemed happy here so whilst I do think he is a decent player, I'm not sure we will get the best out of an unhappy player. If we can get the right fee, I think it is probably best to cash in.

Everything about Chelsea as a football club sickens me. Nothing more than West Ham in blue until they lucked out taking dirty money from Russia 20 years ago, which then allowed them to buy success. The current regime there is arguably even more classless than Abramovich. They sum up everything that is wrong with the modern game. "Sensitive to disrupting our plans for the new season"? Don't make me laugh! This new found sensitivity hasn't stopped them repeatedly picking off her assets, each time having classlessly conducted the whole business by doing all they could to unsettle their targets through leaking stories and details of the negotiations through their endless media contacts.
-
Is there any way in which we can avoid getting stung by the EFL if, as likely, we're relegated next season? They've been desperate to hammer us for a decade and it could get really messy in the Championship if they give us a big points deduction and impose a transfer ban. We'll be fighting relegation to League One if we're not careful. To avoid this, am I right that we need to make sure losses are no more than £83m in the 3 year period ending June this year?

Jose in London for the CL final. Must be here to meet Rudders for talks after the game.

Samit Patel does this every time against us, even though he must be about 45 now. This is a really poor show so far. -

He has played in previous T20 campaigns but his record in T20 is much worse than it is in the other formats. The main issue is that he lacks the power hitting that is so crucial in T20. Of course, you can have 1 top order batsman who is steady and keeps the scoreboard ticking through 1s and 2s, but you can't really have 2 - and they have chosen Hanscomb in that role this time. -
I was all for Corberan too but I'm stupidly excited about the idea of Sarri coming in!
