Last 20 of that was appalling. Just tried to complete triangles between Mads and the back 3 with no attempt to try to get a second. Not sure if it was complacency or people were out on their feet through pressing. Either way, Enzo doesn't trust his bench much. Ipswich looked like a League One side for most of the game but as soon as they brought on fresh legs towards the end and pressed us we started looking very dodgy at the back. Feels like another defeat tbh.

Totally agree about the volume of different presenters. I usually listen to the pod whilst walking down busy London streets and find myself forever adjusting the volume depending on who is speaking. Ric is always commendably loud and clear, others much less so!

Southampton have played only 1 of the top 5 in the last 19 games - and that was the 5th place team at home when by all accounts they were lucky to win (lost 1-2 on xG). In total, from the 3 October to when they play us in March they would have had a 28 game run without playing another team in the top 4. Incredible really. In their last 9 games of the season, though, they have to go away to us, Leeds and Ipswich whilst facing play off chasers like Cov and Watford at home. So that will be the key period for them.

Agree with this. Now is the time to try him out there. He certainly has the energy and dynamism, as well as the defensive instincts and willingness to work hard, that you need to fill one of the number 8 roles in Enzo's system.

Lots on here made similar negatively comments about the signing of Winks. That hasn't turned out too bad....

I've always rated Praet but he's always let me down when it comes to it.

Their equaliser came from a punt into the box badly handled by our defence. Nothing to do with Wilf or KDH who had successfully gained control of midfield once they come on.

We got overrun in midfield by a then desperate Sheff Wed team before Wilf and KDH came on! I would not fancy our chances against anyone with Casadei and Yunus together as 8s. Praet will be injured so isn't worth considering.

I've really missed the pod this week. After a defeat it is always cathartic listening to fellow fans discussing the game.
