Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Sunbury Fox replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
Would be interested to hear the views of pod members on our style of play. Based on the reaction to Saturday's performance, there seems to be a growing number of people on here who, whilst happy with results, are expressing a view that the possession-based style is boring to watch. What do you guys think? -
A Wednesday night KO, followed by playing a very tough match only 2.5 days later, at 12.30 on Saturday, surely means a lot of changes for this game. Something like: Mads Souttar, Coady, Justin Hamza, Winks Fatawu, Praet, Ndidi, Yunus Vardy
-
Well they're 5 points away from safety with tricky fixtures coming up. They've also used up a number of of winnable home matches, losing to Fulham, Wolves and Luton.
-
We are 10 points ahead of where they were. Their record was W8 D8 L1 after 17 games.
-
Are there any photos of it? As we were in the kop and it wasn't shown on the big screen, I've not seen what it looks like.
-
Agreed, but I'm still very concerned that we are missing Winks for this game. Playing out through the kind of press Watford will deploy will be much harder without him, I fear.
-
Feels weird to write this but I think Ndidi has been a huge miss in the box to box 8 role in recent games. His ability to turnover the ball high up the pitch as well as his energy to get around the pitch, including getting into the box regularly, was crucial to our good form up to and including the Swansea game. The other options in that position are markedly worse in these aspects of the game.

I'm sure that Enzo would normally rotate Coady in for Vesty, given the latter has been on international duty. But I worry how we will be able to build effectively from the back if we lose both Vesty and Winks at the same time. Coady and Hamza are far less reliable and effective on the ball.
-
If that's the case, it will be all the sweeter if they finally get relegated. Everyone is saying that they'll be fine but even if they maintain their (uncharacteristically half decent) form so far this season (far from certain) then, with the points deduction, they'll finish on 34 points. In the 30 year history of the PL, not a single club has survived with that number of points.
-
Chuffed for Vesty. What a turnaround for him. 3 months ago, he'd barely started a competitive game in 2 seasons, now he's starting a key game for a top international side. Well played, sir!
-
He just got an assist, according to Sofascore.
-
Don't think JJ has lost any pace. With the inverted full back on the right, his role on the left side of defence is to tuck in to form a back 3 when we're in possession. So he doesn't really have the license to get forward.

Get in!

Jammy gits.

Good call. The football they play is very Pulis.
-
Forest's play in the style of a League 2 team v a PL team in the FA Cup. Don't even attempt to build passing moves.
-
It's just occurred to me that back in 2019, it was bloody Farke, as manager of a crap Norwich team, who did a job on us to get a draw at the KP after we'd won 8 PL games on the trot. We were never the same after that under Rodgers. Hope history isn't repeated.

Has anyone managed to watch the Ipswich game? Not been able to watch as my usual site didn't work for me. Just wondered if they were that good.
-
Sod that.

Ipswich are getting seriously annoying now.
