  1. That chat with the ex Brighton players in the hospitality areas yesterday was very gloomy, and I couldn’t believe it… They’re Brighton and Hove Albion and are 10th in the PL. They are in a group of clubs - like us - who have work smart to maintain PL status year on year. They’ve done amazingly well to relatively consolidate based on where they’ve come from. Their model was similar to ours and many others before, but if not done well and you reinvest big sales poorly it soon catches up with you. They will go down eventually. Perhaps not next season, but within the next 5 years it wouldn’t surprise me to see them go down.
  2. I also thought no one was passing to Vardy. Did anyone else notice that?
  3. Corrected it for you.
  4. Vardy came off, and more active up. Ricky came on and added quality on the ball. Skipp also looked half decent. But Brighton were clearly low on confidence and not firing all cylinders.
  5. Probably already said, but we improved drastically when Vardy came off (Daka is no footballer but he can run) and also when Ricardo came on. Celebrating the draw like they’d won though - telling…
  6. What’s the VAR got then…
  7. Well done to all who travelled
  8. Well said. To think otherwise is to be totally thick in my opinion. How far would these people go back citing success - presumably if we’re in the Evostick Central League in 2035 they would still go on about this.
  9. I’m just having a bite to eat in Hove before the game tomorrow. I look up out the window and I see an urban fox on the top of a wall a few meters away. Maybe it’s a sign we might trouble the goalkeeper tomorrow.
  10. But I think this is also a problem. I went to a home game not so long ago (can’t recall opposition because all the goalless defeats roll into one) and about 70 mins I saw RvN point to his wrist to Vardy as if to say, ‘your time is up and you’re coming off’ - but Vardy shook his head. He stayed on until the end. I’m starting to think Vardy calls the shots, if not on his selection then perhaps other things as well. I love the guy - he’s our greatest ever player - but in that moment I thought perhaps he’s part of the problem. Enzo used him sparingly and as a squad player in the league below…
  11. It really is coming to home to roost that we’ve never ever got close to replacing Vardy
  12. Some good reasons in here for and against. I think I renewed, but I haven’t actually done anything. I think it rolls over doesn’t it? The most passive renewal ever and good job renewing didn’t involve doing anything because I have felt a large degree of apathy and could have easily have lot renewed. This was the first I’ve actively discussed not renewing with my dad, but it’s more than just watching the football and is an opportunity to meet up with family who live at opposite ends of the country.
  13. I’ve just been out with my six year old daughter to a cafe in the Lake District and I’m wearing an LCFC shirt. On the table next to me there is a young boy talking about how he supports Newcastle, presumably because they’re good now and beat Liverpool in the league cup final. His Mum says “but you do know you’re a scouser?” - well he didn’t sound like one. Anyway, they continue to talk about this, and then out of the corner of my eye I see the Mum lean in to talk to the Grandma over the table and she puts her hand over her mouth to shield her voice. On a low volume she said “he supports Leicester…” - as if it was a source of shame and embarrassment. And it is, but finally with mainstream media cottoning on to our decline (and perhaps now other football fans), I think the pressure will ramp up now. King Power Out.
  14. Just pegging my washing out with latest episode on my headphones. The bit where Ric talks about Skipp and running like you’re holding a bin bag that’s about to rip in the garden, and then saying “hot potato”, got me. I think the neighbours wondered why I was cracking up for no discernible reason. Cracking!
  15. LOL this makes me wonder what Cooper’s cum face is? Someone needs to ask Martyn Glover or Rudkin who presumably saw Cooper’s reaction when we signed BDCR and Ayew.
  16. Yea can’t hit save before every game and play it out until we survive pal! It’s not Champ Man!
  17. I didn’t say we should recall him. Just questioning with the balance and quality in the squad why he wasn’t given a go.
  18. A reason to be positive as presumably he’ll be part of our squad next season and getting minutes. But given we have just played a 15 year old in an area Alves could play (whether you believe the rumours the club hierarchy ordered RvN to do it to appease fans or not) should he not be part of the squad this season?
  19. Does Ruudkin cover both?
  20. Being educated on another recent LCFC decline in our recently history under Peter Taylor.
  21. And the numpties around him
  22. A blond Alan Rogers. He’s hopeless and one of the worst I’ve seen here, certainly at this level. And yet some weeks ago when I mentioned this some people had a pop at me. The fact he is here is reflective to how bad our recruitment has been.
  23. I actually found myself wanting him to do well whenever he got the ball. That’s how I feel about us at the moment. If I never went again I wouldn’t be bothered. * checks diary, oh yea planning on going to the Liverpool game! If only to see the plane banner.
  24. I don’t think anyone expected him to do what Rooney did for example when he first played, but he showed a lot more than Daka I would argue (who also played down the side) - a good first touch, a football brain, good movement and ability to beat a player.
