All these excuses why we’ve not got deals over the line in recent times. No coincidence it has coincided with our financial woes - and it’s widely known. We’re toxic! It’s like Chernobyl FC approaching players in the mid to late 80s.

Yes all of this is very taxing

It’s almost like the DoF lacks competence! And perhaps not just in getting these deals over the line, but clearly deals in the recent past have snookered us. He’s probably flapping around on his excel spreadsheet trying to account for it all, and when he thinks he’s done it he releases he’s got the KP horse racing spreadsheet open instead.

We always seem to take an age to formally announce anyone, and I’m hoping it’s just that. But it is concerning.

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

That’s what I thought when I had to trawl back 6 pages to find the source of all this chatter - some no mark on twitter. Calm down everyone! -
Is this a new player from the Bundesliga that we’ve been linked with or something?
-
Could be the club be announcing a series of Wilfred Owen poetry themed social media content? I don’t think we can rule it out.
-
There’s no evidence for it, but it’s a scientific fact.

fair point

People have questioned Zaha’s attitude, but I think he has something to prove. Hopefully we can channel that.
-
Sky saying we just need to agree personal terms. Is this likely to be an issue? I know PL sides can pay more, but hopefully he doesn’t think he can hold out for a side who won’t be fighting relegation.

Hopefully the West Ham Lingard and not the Forest Lingard.

Who doesn’t love ‘10 to 2’ birds?!

Never heard of him. But I’m desperate so I’ll take him

Will Alves signs new deal until 2028!

Haha let’s see… you’re right though, our academy has paid dividends in recent years which can’t be said for the first team recruitment strategy. Cooper has this reputation of working and improving young players - though so did the Northern Irish Tyrion Lannister… -

The club seem to be featuring him on social media a lot. I doubt the person who runs the social media is directed on such matters, but I’d like to think he’s featuring because we’re going to see some of him this season. -
For some reason when I see this guys name I can’t help but think of Eli Wallach

Great news. And he sounds exotic. And he’s one of our own. Can’t get much better than that. -
Chill out pal, as I reach for my handbag. We didn’t comfortably go up. We were miles clear and then fell back to 3rd, before finally getting our act together just in time. But if Leeds had not folded we would gone into the playoffs.

“Knowing me, knowing you… Zaha!” Gerrim in and soon every player will have an ABBA themed chant.

Absolutely. I think if we’d have stuck to Enzos philosophy we may have fell short last season. It’s said isn’t it that when we had that bad run (Millwall, Plymouth etc…) that the players called a meeting and decided to be more pragmatic - we then thumped Southampton which laid a real marker and got us over the line. So you can have a philosophy, but it needs to the suit the players you have, the league you’re in and the opposition. As Burnley proved last year sticking to a dogmatic approach around control and possession saw them relegated pretty convincingly. So in our situation there is clearly a need to be more pragmatic. Yes we can try and have control, but when we don’t we also have players who can hurt teams on the counter etc.

Ultimately we don’t know what happened or what the dialogue was like… there are ways to be vague and suggestive perhaps without being explicit. But I suppose Enzo had come from Man City where if there financial issues they just cheat their way out of it.
