Just had his best season. He was a square peg in a round hole and did fine for the first half of the season, but anyone who thinks he'll be able to play the same role at Premier League level needs to give their head a big old wobble. Not that he would without Maresca, anyway. People seem to have forgotten just how bad he was in his last 18 months in the Premier League. Maybe that's down to Rodgers, but he was still the worst of a very bad bunch for a lot of games. Maybe he will find the form of 2018-2021, but it seems unlikely at this stage. Couple that with the reported salary he's on, plus his injury woes and I just don't think it's worth trying to keep him.

On the plus side, there's a house going on the cheap in Croft as its previous owner - a Spanish national - has decided to move into a tent in the back garden of a large property just off the Kings Road.

Lineker has gone on record as saying it was the ugliest kit he had to wear in his entire career. He couldn't be more wrong. I wasn't around for the original, but it's definitely been reappraised in the last 20 years or so. The fact that they still stock it since it sells so well clearly isn't a big enough indicator to the business big brains at the club that a modern version would do very well indeed.

If this was true it would be arguably our best year for kits ever. Sublime stuff. Shame the 3rd will never happen as the club - even though they're continuously stocking the retro version - just will not bite, despite it obviously being one of our most beloved away kits ever.
