this shows a poor appreciation of how accounting works. Those assets are already in the books at a value. How much have they appreciated ? It’s only worth doing they’re now worth more than they’re already in the books at. Chelsea benefitted because of the large increase of land value etc in London. We won’t be so fortunate. And the PL will be hot on valuation cos it’s us. and more importantly, unless it was done before June 30 2024, it’s too late for last years numbers anyway.

We didn’t argue that we were a championship club for 22/23. It was that our accounts didn’t close until 3 weeks after we were no longer a PL club so we couldn’t be charged by the PL for a breach at that date. the debate over whether our allowable losses are 83 or 105 million could well be the issue here. The PL will be arguing that we must get to 83m (hence charging us) and we will be arguing that this isn’t correct. Looks like mr de Marco is going to be busy. However, if we’re charged and a commission looks at it and docks us 6 points then it’s going to be v messy whilst we appeal and the legal case for 105 is put forward. The deduction will go onto the league table, even though we’ve appealed. We won’t know where we stand (and neither will clubs above us). The PL will be slaughtered in the media

Ideas above our station if arsenal wanted him then we should have let him go and taken the comp. We should have been able to recruit a very capable replacement given where we were in the league and our squad.. Coaches would have been falling over themselves to come here. the fact we gave Rodgers such a huge deal to try and change the rules of the food chain (at that time) came from the top. And whilst we’d never give up the fa cup win, the mess we find ourselves in now is traceable back to that decision on Rodger’s contract and the idea that we could break the big six into a seven. (Even though we were commercially miles and miles away from them).

Then we appeal down to 6.

Is that common sense speaking or has there been publicised acceptance of this ?? Everton’s first sanction was 10 points

Palace and West Ham may be fighting to avoid the drop. if so, those games wouldn’t be easy. More than likely the bottom three are down by then though.

If we’ve breached for 20m then we’ll expect a six point deduction on appeal. If we hadn’t sold kdh and enzo’s comp (still think that may be in July) then the breach would have likely led to a 10 point deduction on appeal. We’d never survive with a ten point sanction. Maybe the club felt 6 was possibly manageable with some luck. btw, if RVN wasn’t told about this then he might walk - i reckon he’s way more principled than most of the British coaches

Unless we’ve leaked this all ourselves in the hope that when we aren’t charged in the next couple of weeks the fanbase will breathe a huge sigh of relief and not notice that we havent brought anyone in 😄 the leaks are typical of what happened last Jan with Everton. they proved to be correct. Not sure exactly when they were publicly charged though. Assume that notification is done privately and may well be mid jan but I think the official stuff isn’t until beginning feb??

The accounting period simply defines the date that the breach occurred. we were a PL club end June 24 we will be charged by the PL and they will just luv it ………

Why would anyone come here on that basis ? trust me, we have either paid a big loan fee and small part of his wages or a small loan fee and a large part of his wages. would probs total £5m over a season which will be £4.2m as he came end august the only way out is if palace agree to cancel the loan - they won’t because they don’t want to strengthen us.
