A sale in Jan won’t help our 23/24 accounts which is what we’re at risk of a sanction for this season .

But both clubs could still agree to cancel the loan. Basically, Brighton can’t recall him.

No we are on a three year rolling assessment re psr (irrespective of which league we are in ) we got out of the previous likely breach by moving our accounting period back so that when we were a PL club our accounts hadn’t been finalised to end year 3. We ceased to be a PL club early June and our accounts didn’t close till end June. So we successfully argued that the Pl couldn’t charge us for those accounts cos we were an efl club at the point that the accounts ended. The efl could charge us but by the time the case was heard, we were no longer an efl club. So they technically can still charge us for that breach. At end June 24 we were an pl club and therefore the pl can charge us for losses to end June 2024. Most of us assumed that we’d met PSR by selling kdh and getting the money for enzo. Maybe we didn’t . We will find out early feb (although I reckon it leaks in jan)

But he isn’t worth that ! I reckon we struggle to get £6m. Might have to settle for £5m to clear up psr on hi.

We broke them if we didn’t break them then why do you think we spent a load of dosh on lawyers to argue we couldn’t be charged ?

We argued that the PL couldn’t charge us as we were a championship club in that season. We can’t then argue that the efl can’t charge us.

If we go down then we presumably have the same charade as last time on the accounts - unless the EFL have changed their rules. we get punished for our previous breaking of the rules which we’ve so far escaped. Probably around 10 points. Can’t see them being able to justify more than that, could be as low as 6 points. and they’ll try and impose a transfer embargo based on expectation that we’ll fail this season and next season.

Wages are not necessarily the problem they seem. If we take a player like maguire or chilwell for six months then we’d expect to pay a loan fee and a proportion of the wages. If Maguire is a 20 mill player then he’s worth 4m oer annum. So a loan fee for 6 months should be approx 2m (40k/week). if we cover 120k/week of his wages and pay no loan fee then it’s like us paying him 80k/week. yanited may decide that them covering 70k per week till the summer could easily be recovered if he plays well here and then gets a transfer somewhere.
