He’s worth 7m amortised to us if we loan him this season then he’s only 1 year left next summer and that becomes complicated we should be able to get £7m and the buying club cover his wage differential for two seasons (approx 4m - he’s worth 40k/week max in Italy or France) so a sale for 7m wipes him off our books completely with neutral psr implications (apart from saved wages). I bet we don’t manage to negotiate that wage saving!

Depends what clauses his agent wants in a contract Any normal club would have done the important bits of the personal stuff with the agent before they approached the selling club. If you know you won’t be able to meet the personal demands then no point in wasting your time negotiating with the seller.

Vards is going to be a bit part player this season He didn’t look great in the PL two seasons ago - he’s now two years older. Mavs is an unknown at this level - could be anything. He’s certainly not a top six player but no reason why he couldn’t hold his own just below that level - but he hasn’t done it yet so we just don’t know. zaha is proven in that area in the PL

Are we certain that he doesn’t have any fitness issues ? as a bog standard overlapping full back I’m not sure Ricky’s legs are what they once were and that may also bring injury risks maybe we should be letting enzo know that we have the perfect player for his system @£35m !

cooper went public with his frustrations on incomings yesterday he must have known that we were in negs re zaha and ionnides. So why the public frustration? Can only assume that he’s seen us close to several incomings that haven’t worked out and he decided to make a point to the board that he needs completions. That must mean that he believes that some of the failures were down to us.
