Out of the clubs interested in him he wants Roma not a difficult call for him - Marseille are also a pull but would seem that he’s decided on rome. Probably bigger deal for him and his agent If we were a sensibly run club and the players was on 50k per week, he’d have been sold a year ago.

Of course not we need a fee of 7m to break even on psr bit that could still leave us covering the wage difference between what we pay him and what Roma would for two years.

we won’t take a deal where we make a psr loss this season. Whilst we haven’t brought new players in we could call his bluff but once we’ve done a deal or two, Roma will know of our desperation.if we delay deals then we run the risk of losing them.. So we’ll probably end up making that psr loss !

He’s worth 7m amortised to us if we loan him this season then he’s only 1 year left next summer and that becomes complicated we should be able to get £7m and the buying club cover his wage differential for two seasons (approx 4m - he’s worth 40k/week max in Italy or France) so a sale for 7m wipes him off our books completely with neutral psr implications (apart from saved wages). I bet we don’t manage to negotiate that wage saving!

Depends what clauses his agent wants in a contract Any normal club would have done the important bits of the personal stuff with the agent before they approached the selling club. If you know you won’t be able to meet the personal demands then no point in wasting your time negotiating with the seller.
