  1. Still managing alves playing time good to see Sammi play 90 cant see enzo wanting to put these kids into the firing line of a game like Saturdays
  2. That first goal was brilliant
  3. if Israel and the Palestinians are going to negotiate then Palestine will need Arab countries to guarantee their safety because Israel would not allow them to have a military. it’s going to be complicated. The more Arab countries that Israel has normalised relations with the better in this context. it all adds to the trust element between the two peoples. Iran needs to have enemies other than fellow Muslim states - Middle East peace is not wanted by them.
  4. I presume that they don’t want Israel normalising with too many Arab countries because they need to have an enemy to help maintain control over their population if things become difficult domestically. at the moment Israel has normalised diplomatic relations with Arab countries as follows: Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Oman (probably another one or two) if Saudi were to do the same then whose to says that other Sunni majority counties such as Algeria and Tunisia don’t follow ?? Iran does not want a two state solution. Israel normalising relations with more and more Arab countries will surely mean that this is more likely over time. It is in Iran’s interest for Israel to be isolated as much as possible within the Arab world. As we’ve discussed on here several times, Iran is invested in the chaos of the Middle East - eventually Israel will elect a government that will negotiate with the Palestinians. Iran does not want that.
  5. We Can’t afford to stream it ….
  6. You mean like it was on Oct 6th? maybe those un named Saudi royal family member comments from yesterday are true (not that this isn’t something that wasn’t pointed out on this thread shortly after oct 7th)
  7. makes it too obvious mate 😉
  8. She has an inflated view of herself she believes she matters sadly people who have smoke blown up their backsides often end up like this why so many high profile people feel the need to publicly comment on things before there is evidence of what has happened baffles me. Have some patience but better still just don’t bother commenting unless it actually concerns you directly or you actually have something useful to say about it.
  9. EFL bans sales of assets (non playing) being included whereas apparently the EPL don’t I think the epl will close this loophole now
  10. Surely it’s Iran that been clever here. They’ve been attacking Israel every day since Oct 7 (and more occasionally prior to that ) via rockets fired into its territory by Hezbollah and the houthis (plus Hamas). The generals who were killed in Damascus were involved in directing Hezbollah - hence they were considered reasonable targets. one question I’d have would be whether Israel would have gone after them if they’d been in the embassy.? to say that Israel attacked Iran’s consulate and that was the first attack in an Israel/iran conflict is to simplify a very complex regional situation. Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran and a rocket fired by Hezbollah is considered by Israel to have been fired by the Iranian govt. all within a context that both the Israeli and Iranian govts are invested in this conflict continuing and Iran are extending the time that netenyahu stays in place by this action.
  11. If he’s nominated as player of the season then he’d struggle not to be in the team of the year !
  12. social media has no checks and balances Australian news channels however…… With no evidence, Iranian regime propagandist Miram Susli worked with Russian regime propagandist Simeon Boikov to smear a random 20 year old Jewish guy in Sydney as the terrorist responsible for the Bondi massacre. They found a guy with a beard and a Jewish name on LinkedIn and tried to pin the massacre on him and even successfully managed to deceive Seven News Media into republishing the lie to an audience of millions.
  13. I wonder if there was a message in Iran’s response last night. They could have sent a couple of cruise missiles towards Israeli bases and would have known they’d be taken out . But they involved themselves in an ‘over reaction’ to what was essentially several of its top generals being assassinated in Damascus. (And as mentioned last week in this thread, there is talk that one of those was involved in oct 7 planning - The Israelis have not admitted that they carried out the attack so they can hardly put forward and justification for it.) Were the Iranians effectively making a comment on how they view Israel’s response to oct 7 in Gaza ? you also need to appreciate that Israel (and much of the west) views Hezbollah, houthis and Hamas as being mouthpieces of Iran. They would say that Iran has been attacking Israel every day for the last six months + there is already a cycle of daily retaliation ongoing by proxy (apr 1 and last night were more direct examples) my main point this morning is that Israel has for decades been the military strongman in the region (principly due to it being the only nuclear power but not exclusively). no state would directly challenge it - instead doing so as Iran has done via proxies. To allow this level of attack from Iran to go unanswered would not fit with the image of netenyahu’s govt. it will be interesting to see just how they respond. is this all part of a planned dance between two govts who need the war to continue for their own ends? Whatever the response from Israel, that won’t tell us much because there are explanations available for all levels of reaction.
  14. Can smell it from here……. your ‘Jeffreys’ analogy was also excellent and I think all those who played Tuesday and Friday plus coaching staff should have to do this on tuesday morning at seagrave prior to training on the downside, if we do get a result on Saturday then the pod will be less funny. Our form means that there is a risk that you all become our equivalent of arsenal fan tv although no one else’s fanbase is listening in atm.
  15. We aren’t swapping players in my suggestion
  16. And according to Iran, this launch of drones etc is their response to the Damascus attack and they consider the matter closed. (Assuming no Israeli response)
  17. It’s possible that Jordan and Iraq gave permission for us and U.K. fighter jets to intercept the drones over their air space rather than allowing Israeli air defences to enter that air space.
  18. There is a small chance that there is some co ordianation and the Iranians have notified the Americans which are the Israeli govt targets and their expectation is that few missiles/drones will get through. the Iranians can look to their domestic audience to be tough and the Israelis can appear to be restrained in their response it’s a small chance but we need to hope that it’s what’s happening one last thing - a while ago I posted that it wouldn’t surprise me to see Iran continue to poke the Israelis because they need netenyahu to retain his position. The last thing Iran wants is a new Israeli govt that might seek to find a way forward in a two state solution. That doesn’t suit them at all. And we know netenyahu wants the conflict to continue for his own personal reasons - who knows if this is actually part of some huge game of posturing which suits both the Iranian and current israeli govts.
  19. Israel’s response will be reflective of how much of an attack this becomes if it’s just fifty drones that are easily dealt with before they arrive then I doubt there will be too much reaction. If there are some missiles launched in a couple hours to catch up the drones then it’s extremely dangerous and will drive a response.
  20. Who had ‘Sadam Hussein’s undercarriage’ on their BSLB bingo card?’
  21. Who owns seagrave? If it’s the club and we sold it then we’d not be able to train there because that would be too dodgy If we do own it then we sell seagrave to a king power subsidiary we move back to belvoir drive seagrave is mothballed for a couple seasons alternatively we take out points deduction and get on with it !
  22. Boro scored too early!
  23. Likel Bristol c were?
