  1. souttar and VK dont really help because we still owe 60%+ of their fees in the accounts at end june. bouba is 40%. ward and iverson - not getting much for them
  2. Would have been included on their P11D as a benefit so must have been added to the wage bill I guess the club would have paid tax on them too We don’t But it’s not an unreasonable assumption that if there is a relegation reduction then there will be a promotion recovery to the agreed contractual salary my musing earlier was that did we manage to get relegation clauses included into contracts on the basis that players would have the opportunity to recover some or all of their reduction via immediate promotion. Many were surprised that we had relegation clauses in contracts at all (apart from VK and souttar)
  3. I believe that efl stuff is inapplicable whilst in the prem. do forest have anything left from efl issues if they were relegated?
  4. I’m increasingly intrigued by the lack of interest in our players wanting out since last May (and our inability to move some on), despite their sig drop in earnings as reported by Percy and others. I can only think that a possible reason for this is that if we go straight back up then they get this back as a bonus. That would be quite a hit in the accounts and tough to argue it should be put into next years numbers because I believe league rules state that bonus’ must be paid in the season (ie before end June) to which they are connected.
  5. If you mean this window as in the one just finished then clearly we would have liked to get some money in but weren’t able to do so. the summer window needs to be split June /july- august. Word is that we need to sell a player £20m+ that is either academy or in second contract ( all profit) by end June. so we may well be forced to seek irrespective of being a PL club again
  6. I do wonder if ,( just as with the ukraine war), the prospect of trump in a years time may concentrate the minds of Iran and its proxies. if the polls are steadfastly against trump then it won’t have much affect. still talk of a six week ceasefire to allow the remaining hostages to be freed. (And a much larger number of Palestinian prisoners) whilst Hamas are against this because Israel will not agree to a complete ceasefire after the six weeks are over, I think they may accept it in the short term because the alternative is the removal from Gaza of their fighting forces over the next couple months (for us it’s the deaths of thousands more civilians but that doesn’t seem to be part of hamas’ calculations)
  7. He’s been perfect for us this season but he won’t be the answer next
  8. Just to clarify …….
  9. What’s a gay job number ??
  10. Missed the first half how did he do as an 8?
  11. We need to win half our games - 96 will be more than enough imo. Reckon 2nd will be 95 max and probably a few less
  12. The right will be routed in the next general election (in as much as any of the main parties can be routed in Israel’s form of PR). If the palestinans can provide a viable group of leaders to discuss a path to peace then I think there is a window in late 2025 or early 2026 to begin this in earnest. I’m not sure how a trump presidency would affect this prediction but assume badly.
  13. Their defence looks awful the lack of chasing back when McGinn got the follow up was dreadful
  14. I don’t think it’s that we can’t afford him - more that we may decide we can put the money to better use we dont know how complex the appearance clause is obviously, casadei’s was minutes based
  15. Yep - my point we can’t give him certainty until we’re promoted so I’d be surprised if he committed to anything with us until then
  16. 😄 maybe but if I were him then I’d be v angry that I’m not going to be able to play much and put myself in the shop window for a final hurrah in my career (and associated contract) I wonder if there’s any chance he may now go on loan to a Turkish or Swiss club ?
  17. Surely he can’t sign a pre agreement unless it’s a pre agreement. It can’t be a pre agreement in the event that x or y happens. You can have a verbal commitment from the player but it’s worth nowt.
  18. most of our sig costs are fixed till end June - salaries etc. you’d expect us to be sailing v close to the wind in any case. I guess we could save a couple million quid would by slashing spending on the running of the club but I’d not want loads of redundancies to pay for sensi ! (And doubtful they’d deliver that saving anyway). The point is we’re not closing down parts of the operation to get him in. The easiest way to generate that couple million this financial year is to sell a player with low amortisation remaining or move one out on a loan with a decent loan fee and salary saving. If we’re promoted we can. trade beyond June with increased costs to reflect the increased income. The issue with sensi was him being out of contract end June. We could see this would be complicated when it was reported that we wanted to put back the mass of the €2.5m until promotion was guaranteed in the context that the player was OOC end June. that’s what irks me here. we could see it would be tricky so how did those running the operation think it was a good idea not to address it sooner than the last day or so of the window. Just in case. they may have thought someone was going out to facilitate it but in business you make alternative arrangements in the event of things not going to plan. You don’t leave legal stuff until the eleventh hour. As was reported somewhere, I wonder if those making the decisions were all in on this and preferred to get the fella in July when there would be no fee to pay.
  19. Yes If we don’t go up then we wouldn’t be able to afford him if we dont go up then the player won’t want to be here
  20. Win means we go though to the next round as we finish 2nd in our group
  21. I wonder if their k lisbie is Kevin lisbie’s kid ?
  22. We can’t do a pre contract until we’re promoted the contract extension was down to us. We didn’t want to pay the fee for the deal now and asked for it to be loaded as an add on at the end based on promotion. but if we weren’t promoted then inter get nothing as the player is out of contract. Hence inter needed to give the player a years extension if we failed to be promoted so that they could then still sell him in the summer. This introduced complexities to the contract which were expected by Inter’s lawyers as it seems they have no experience of championship paperwork which differs and is longer than premier league. it’s not their fault it’s our fault because we should have sorted this out before yesterday evening in case we shouldn’t get a player out and therefore couldn’t pay a fee now and stay within PSR.
  23. This should have been sorted earlier in the week. Can’t think why it wasn’t ……
