why would we accept a loan where a recall was possible? there might be more to this than is being publicised - he hasn’t pulled up any trees here and he certainly isnt good enough for the PL at the moment. He’s also cup tied and he won’t be going anywhere before Monday’s game
-
And bear in mind if we go back up then so do his wages ……… If he’s been assured if his euros place then he may just hang around if he’s been told he needs to play then I reckon a loan at best because of those wages

Did you use an AI ric or just drug him up ??? -
The PL either shot themselves in the foot by bringing so many charges against Man City or they perhaps did it deliberately, knowing that the more complex it was, the longer it would take to get to a hearing and ‘stuff’ might intervene. I heard an interview today with a financial football guy who said that Man City would be relegated several divisions if found guilty but he was pretty sure that the PL wouldn’t be able to meet the threshold on evidence for an independent commission to do that.

You wouldn’t be surprised would you ? When did he accept his contract renewal ? We were going to be Europa league winners that season - or qualify for CL - or we won the fa cup - we were huge innit !
-
Guessing was around 55k in the prem so likely to now be 35k and no (unless Brendan was making decisions the summer before he arrived )
-
You’re on the right track re praet - we’ve effectively booked the final amount of his fee in this years accounts so I’d say if we can get rid for nothing this month and he does what ayo did last Jan and forgoes his wages, we are better off by 200k/month
-
I’m sure we are very tight on headroom re ffp souttar was bought a year ago for £15m. Let’s be optimistic and say that was if we stayed up and it’s was only £12.5m. Over five years that’s 2.5m in the minus column each year. So we’ve already booked 2.5m which leaves 10m. If we sell him for £7m then we have to stick £3m in the neg column this season. That’ would mean selling him makes us 0.5m worse than keeping him! And that’s before you take the hit on his wages - if we sold him to the prem then we could be ok as he would be paid the same as we are paying him and we might get the £10m we’d need. But if he went to rangers then we’d have to settle the probable few million quid shortfall there aswell on those wages This illustrates that selling a player like souttar isn’t a solution. Praet would be because his salary would pretty much cover sensi’s demand and his original fee has been amortised now.
-
£17m? praet isn’t worth anything into his last 6 months and Harry is about a £7m pound player at best in jan I knew someone would say a loan agree that probably effectively kicks the can down the road but we wouldn’t be able to loan for more than six months and if ward plays then he likely becomes worthless !
-
That had occurred to me as I wrote it but not convinced that is allowable under accounting rules. If he didn’t get another job then would be ok . (As happens with sacked managers). I'm sure you can agree to pay monthly for the duration of the original contract but I think the full amount that you’ve agreed to pay has to go into the accounts in the year the deal is done.
-
Given that a buyer of ward isnt going to pay him what we pay him, I can’t see his sale doing anything apart from opening up a squad place. Whatever we take in on a fee will be eaten up by his salary shortfall and loyalty bonus. Same with praet or anyone whose contract ends this summer. The only possible departure that I can see being workable financially is kasey because he earns nowt and his fee is all profit this year. if we do buy sensi then it will be money coming out of the summer budget and I think the club are trying to avoid this. Maybe enzo wasn’t overly bothered that we lost on Saturday cos it might concentrate the minds upstairs a little for this month.

We needed madders out by 30 June re the accounts

Wasn’t the coaches finest moment for sure Some strange tactics 10 v 11
-
The ones we wanted out were on higher wages than most of those at other clubs (probably rudkin’s fault) and it would have actually damaged our ffp situation to have sold them for a low fee and had to pay up their contracts to the difference of what we owed them and what another team would pay them. Add in the excellent workplace that exists here and some players are content to not play than take a financial hit. your comments re contacts etc are probably valid too the buck has to stop somewhere but i also think it’s a little more complex than we understand financially.

Pancreatic cancer is usually inoperable because by the time it’s diagnosed it’s too late. One of those cancers that’s also very difficult to treat because the pancreas is deep within the body and surrounded by organs that you don’t want to damage whilst trying to get at it. In addition, because it’s usually diagnosed late, it has spread to those surrounding organs. People can go from seeming to be fit as a fiddle and then gone within six months. All cancers are grim but this one is very grim indeed. -

There are no miracles where pancreatic cancer is involved A life well lived for sure and I hope he can be strong long enough to do what he wants to before he passes. -
I think vennels CBE is a giant red herring that the authorities are hoping will satisfy the general public And I’m sure that the press will lap that up and try to move on quickly and sadly, public opinion will do the same It stinks of incompetence but the govt are seeking to make positives from it - have they no shame????? The answer is probably that Fujitsu and the PO are making the whole thing very technical when it really shouldn’t be. Those conducting the enquiry may well not understand the technicalities and won’t ask difficult questions for fear of looking stupid. It’s been the same in computer systems for the past fifty years.
-
It’s partly to do with game time but it’s also to do with potentially unsettling the lad if he comes here or soton and has a storming spell and gets promotion - he may want to come back next season and Liverpool want him there. He won’t get the same game time at Anfield as we would here or soton and klopp won’t want a player unhappy sitting on the bench most weeks (or not in the squad)
-
They must know what the errors in the system were by now They should have to come clean and explain - those convicted of crimes they didn’t commit deserve to know on what basis the system erred. if it’s badly designed and programmed by Fujitsu, why are they still allowed to tender for govt business? If it’s down to post office procedures not fitting the system design then those convicted should be allowed to sue the arse off the post office.
-
The disgrace of this is now made even worse by the govt response being ramped up on the back of public interest following a tv drama where the hell have all these officials and ministers been since 2021 when the high court case was won ??
