  1. A day later and some things are beginning to dawn on people regarding ms whelan But it could be that we’re such a sh1t show now that it won’t make a lot of difference
  2. I saw that the father of the attacker yesterday posted on social media that this is not what the family are. That this was a heinous act……. the same man who posted on Oct 7 glorifying the attack ……clearly the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree …….. (mr al Shamie jnr was also on bail for a rape charge btw)
  3. Nottingham ………
  4. I thought it meant ‘struggle’. It doesn’t have to mean violence. not sure why you’d call your kid ‘struggle’ though
  5. The Finsbury Park mosque attack was indeed on a par although the perpetrator seems to not have the mindset to leave his vehicle and try to kill people one to one. I haven’t read up on the motivation for that attack - was it specifically aimed at that mosque because of the negative publicity that had been attached to it over the years? I don’t believe that religion on its own is a problem. It’s the extremist interpretations on the margins that lead to problems. Those religions that seek to convert and expand will generally find themselves more at odds with societies where they seek to become established because of those margins. Will birth rates within the muslim community continue to be significantly higher than other groups? If so, it is inevitable that Islam will become the largest religion in Western Europe within 100 years. Within the democratic structures, if constitutions allow, that means many large changes could occur. Surely it is ok for countries to change with their populations ? Would it be an issue for Britain to be an Islamic state in 2150 if 65% of the population were muslim? Either you embrace change or you take steps to prevent it. At the moment we seem to be trying to be all things to all people. of course, as the Muslim demographic increases in its wealth, its birth rate may well begin to drop and that would change this timescale. Do we need to have this debate? the division that now exists means that it can’t happen in a constructive/ grown up manner. the basic problem is a lack of respect for others, and this is getting worse, not better.
  6. Sheep are useful
  7. Apparently one of the dead and one of the injured seem to have been hit by police gunshots tragic
  8. Can those who attend mosques advise if they have security guards on duty when they have prayers or events there ? Are the doors to the mosque locked shut during services with someone having to guard the door and unlock to allow people in ? this has been the case at synagogues and community centres for decades. also, do Islamic schools have security guards on duty rather than teachers making sure all is in order. I understand that many mosques are attacked but I believe that it’s the buildings that are targeted away from busy times rather than the people attending. I think there is a lot of ignorance out there about how Jews have to go about their business - this is not just the uk. Most of Europe is the same. And fundamentally, this feeds into the vast majority isr support that exists within the community. it’s the only country that they know will be a place of safety for them.
  9. You’ve butchered that !
  10. Incidentally, there are some claims in isr media that some of the flotilla vessels were empty of any aid. They’ll need all the ‘receipts’ with uncut videos or the accusation will be that they’ve simply unloaded it to make their point.
  11. I’m available 😄
  12. I see your point but I think people should be proud of their roots and ancestry. We see second gen Indians and Pakistanis supporting their cricket teams on tour here. If they’re also being overtly anti England then I think that’s not right but expressing support for the country of their origins is fine imo. The attacker today is a British Muslim just as you have British jews, British Sikhs, British hindus Do any of these groups cause any issues? It’s an extremist part of Islam that brings problems. You could argue that there is an extremist part of English nationalism that brings problems too. CORRECTION: he was born in Syria. Granted citizenship in 2006.
  13. If one went then they should both have gone if rudders hasn’t gone then he’s not going anywhere under Top’s ownership
  14. If it was already arranged then I see no issue with it you can’t argue that Gaza/palestine should not equate to Jews in the uk and then demand that a Gaza protest be cancelled because of an attack on Jews in the uk. the question is why was a protest organised for a Thursday. If it’s been organised after the events of this morning then it 100% shouldn’t have been allowed. the attacker was a British born Muslim of Syrian descent (Called Jihad - that won’t help)
  15. This isn’t good imo whelan was a king power person.- a friend and confidante of Vichai If rudders has seen her off then we’re stuck with him forever
  16. No one in particular - both governments have failed we’ve allowed a number of protesters to sing chants that are blatantly anti semtic across the country, week after week without challenge (eg. ‘Khaybar, khaybar’) I guess there might be consequences
  17. there were impromptu pro Gaza protests on oct 8th 2023 too I guess the best form of attack/defence is to get in there and remind everyone what the narrative should be about
  18. We were comfortable for the first hour. There was no danger of anything other than a home win. And then they made their changes and adjusted their tactics again (after they'd done so at half time without affecting the game ). And we made some changes too. the result of the changes in personnel and tactics was that the game evened out and they began to create openings. And our defending was grim - you could argue that it hadn’t been an issue prior to their changes because they never really put much pressure on us. But even in those early skirmishes in the first half, you could see that we didn’t look solid. Hats off to Parkinson for playing the long game and biding his time and keeping the game tight until he needed to open things up a bit.
  19. I’ve just been down a brexit rabbit hole and Cameron did warn that the Calais camps would be effectively moved to Folkestone without the protection of the existing EU agreements. So the message was there but clearly it wasn’t made effectively. your point 1 is relevant here.
  20. If the effects of us leaving the Dublin convention were so obvious re illegal migration to our shores, why did no one on the remain side shout about it ? I mean even a couple of percent of changed minds would have made all the difference! or did no one on the remain side envisage the issue snowballing as it has (in which case it would be harsh to blame the brexiteers for not seeing it either). It would be an unforeseen consequence.
  21. It was her husband. She’s guilty of nothing criminal and even he isn’t as a shareholder. He wasn’t even listed as a director. Can’t revoke a peerage on that basis. sadly you’re more right than wrong Unemployment? They never employed anyone.
  22. I see that govt has won its case against PPE medpro and awarded £122m damages. I also see that PPE medpro has been placed into administration the case was brought in 2022 - company accounts at that time showed assets of the business to be just below £4m. What was the point of bringing this case ? At the very most it could recover that amount and it would be obvious that any case would take years and that funds in the company would dwindle away. We must have spent millions obtaining a ruling that is worth bugger all. Govt is ludicrous- no commerciality whatsoever. Just spending our money like it’s water.
  23. Dover too busy will be further down the coast nice calm day ….. no boats due over the weekend !
  24. Just noticed that the flotilla is due to arrive in gzan waters on yom kippur - assume this is totally co incidental! It will wind up the isrlies big time. 40/50 boats is a lot to deal with and avoid unplanned consequences. .
