But this is politics and Starmer has been ‘unlucky’ a number of times already and as a realist, I know we have another 3 years at least of this government and I’m concerned who would be PM if he was forced out. 100% but there are differences between ‘pissing someone off’ and generating written accusations of bullying from more than one source. all I’m saying is that politically he should be more careful about his appointments because an excuse ‘how could I have known’ won’t wash for the umpteenth time. he’s exhausted that excuse after the mandelson debacle.

Other clubs have fallen foul of psr whilst in the PL (like villa and Newcastle ) but they’ve found a creative way of traversing the problem. (Eg selling academy products to each other at inflated values). The fact that our board were incapable of finding a way of kicking the psr can down the road is why we’re here. our solution was to stop trading and hope the manager could keep the ship afloat in the higher reaches of the league. naive and ultimately pretty much suicidal.
