I don’t see reform/tories getting to 320 (or whatever they need) Aside, the labour conference has always seemed to me to be an event that half the party leadership (not the union leaders) hate. The delegates debate loads of things that the majority of MP’s and certainly the cabinet/shadow cabinet would have to disassociate themselves from. Only when Corbyn was party leader did it seem like there was some synergy. are the Tory and Lib Dem conferences as disjointed ?? Haven’t noticed.

IMO, this is a big factor why he won’t get a majority in a GE. He’s not a serious politician that would be trusted to run the country he won’t be able to get enough of the middle ground to support him. The issue will be how fractured the labour vote becomes re the greens and your party if he (and reform) make it to polling day then I’d expect a hung parliament based on current trends within left of centre politics.

Awful isn’t it I’m still managing to keep strong feeds from many viewpoints to avoid the echo chamber issue but there are a number of x accounts which I’m pretty sure are funded/run by organisations or states rather than individuals. I do see a few accounts that deliver information that often takes several days to appear in msm. Over time, you get to know which sources are more likely to be reliable but no account is free from bias and misinformation. Whitehouse news conference this evening at 6-15 our time - could be v consequential if we already have agreements in place. But as has happened so often these last few months, it would be no surprise for it to fall apart.

What the view on ‘first cousin marriages’ ? i raise this because the telegraph are reporting that the NHS have said they’re linked to ‘stronger extended family support systems and economic advantages’ . I haven’t seen the NHS report and it could be that this phrase has been taken out of context completely with this being one side of an equation. my ignorant view would have been that it’s not great for genetics and the NHS would presumably be at the forefront of dealing with some of the consequences. Maybe the positives outweigh the negatives ?? I’m open to be ‘educated’.
