I'm starting to warm to him. He has a good attitude and we need to stack the team with as much of that as we can. Looked decent when we first signed him, very good at Palace away before he was (probably unfairly) dropped and he hadn't recovered since, looking like a competition winner at times. Fitness and confidence are clearly big factors with him but there should be a dependable player in there at this level. Just need to look past the ridiculous price tag, which is on Rudkin and not him.

No chance Skipp goes- not sure exactly how PSR works, but wouldn't it likely end up being a massive loss against the accounts given what we paid for him? On top of that, he's just starting to find his feet and deserves a run in the side. The other two, absolutely. Time is clearly up for them both here.

Cov have no strength in depth , they were always going to struggle when they got a few injuries- hopefully that continues. I fancy Ipswich to go up automatically, Southampton to finish third unless Cov really implode.

Obviously a massive issue but there's hope, once we've managed to shift the overpaid dross on. That was a team I can get behind today.

I'm happy with that. A century for Root, far more application in the batting than in Perth and some very valuable runs before the close. Look forward to watching this 10th wicket partnership develop when my 5 o'clock alarm goes off tomorrow.
