Norwich 1-2 LCFC, post-match thread
Ted Maul replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Bloody hell, we needed that. Absolutely dreadful up until the subs, but he's stumbled on the formula we need to take forward. Mavididi back in, Reid as a 10, James back as a CM. Fair play to Bobby Reid, unbelievable 20 minutes from him.- 336 replies

Surely, surely it's that. It has to be. I can actually get on board with that too.
-
Potentially a a factor in us keeping hold of him. No reason for him to leave this year now- guaranteed a top order spot, playing Div 1, experienced world-class spinner to learn from.

Fatawu might be more effective at RWB than he is in the current system... give him a bit more space to run into rather than being boxed in by 2 defenders near the corner flag with no runners. -
Agreed. We'll get things right in one of the tests, but there will be a lot more days where we get rolled over. Aus attack will be far too good for us in home conditions.

He's limited but I disagree- we're absolutely desparate for a bit of bite and energy. Don't think it's a coincidence that our form has dropped since he's largely been out of the side. -
The Congerton effect. Hamburg and Sunderland both fell to the lowest ebbs in their history after his involvement- we're not a million miles off going the same way.
-
Definitely Skipp, but that is a honking list.
-
We were bottom under Sousa, but ended up finishing top half I think... that might be a tall order for us this year with the looming points deduction and honking form.

Feyenoord are a huge club and currently Europa League level... reluctant to use him failing there as the bar. He does look worryingly ineffective in our team though (probably not helped by the system we insist on playing) and it's not a good sign that I don't even know what sort of player he is, or what his main strengths are -
Thinking about it, this is probably now the worst Leicester side since we got relegated to League One. The best part of 20 years (where the **** has that time gone?). From what Top inherited, and the position we were in just 5 years ago, it's absolutely criminal. Rudkin still in charge, still making the same poor decisions, still costing the club millions year after year in bad recruitment, badly negotiated contracts and inflated wages, sacking bad managerial appointments... I just don't get it, it's baffling. That's before you even get onto the farcical commercial side of things. King Power out.

Yeah, most of the players are shite- but he's still the one picking them week in, week out when we've got excellent academy prospects waiting in the wings. The fans don't want to watch the likes of Soumare, Kristiansen, Faes and Ayew any more. He's given himself no room for error by regularly subjecting us to them again.
-
Summer 2024- hiring Cooper and spending the majority of what we got for KDH on Oliver Skipp. No lessons learned. No change. No hope.

A 9-point deduction puts us 4 points from safety... you'd like to think weve got the individual quality to win games in Fatawu and James, but we're in trouble if their confidence goes.
-
Absolute disgrace, if true. Say what you like about his limitations, but he wouldn't have just given up like Kristiansen did for their second goal.
-
Yeah, I think that's Marti done here. Showing more signs of regression than progress and playing the same failed players mean that the fans won't give him any time. What a depressing hill he's died on.
-
That second sentence completely contradicts the first. If you don't look like scoring at home to one of the worst teams in the division, you aren't playing well.
-
Patson's our best striker by a distance. Ayew isn't a number 9, and I've seen enough of Carranza now to make up my mind- absolute mule. Marti's insistence on rigidly playing 1 up top, isolating all of our forward players, is really starting to wind me up.
-
Much more like it. Overlapping runners create space.... who'd have thought it?!
-
Absolutely no chance we draw 2 tests with the way we play. Be fairly surprised if any of them make day 5.
-
Got to play both Archer and Wood in Perth, then rotate for the rest of the series- if we go 1-0 down then we've had it.
-
I agree, but can't see us being successful again as long as the current hierarchy renains in place. Something has to give or the downward spiral will continue, and we'll continue to shed matchgoing fans.
-
The problem, which I feel the club are imminently about to discover, is that this sort of clientele are the ones who won't stick around when things get tough. They'll be desperate for the 'custom' of the ones they've alienated and pushed out soon enough.
-
I'd be on the M62 by now. They've got plenty to shout about though- none of it good.
-
You might even get to see Skipp and Kristiansen second half too... full (shit)house.
