  1. The irony is that killing off the old became policy under Johnson - the very voter base they should have been able to rely on.
  2. How anyone can confidently write Starmer and Labour off after 14 years of destruction is beyond me. Sure, they might stink. But then again they might not.
  3. There's evidence absolutely everywhere - and it's always been that way. Once someone of a certain mindset has decided they're right, it seems to become a badge of honour to double down, or maybe they are just brought up to believe that admitting a mistake is weakness.
  4. For the record, I personally don't think it is stupidity that causes people to fall for the populist line - there are many understandable factors involved, one of which is the lack of trust and hope that was so evident in 2016. I'm just sad that many go that route. Once someone has been persuaded that way, it's almost impossible to argue them back the other way. Nobody wants to admit they've been had - I know, it hurts to do so. Been there.
  5. Amazing, I said that with sincerity and I get the passive aggressive laughing emoji. Tellingly.
  6. I'm glad we're of a mind on this. I hope nobody has done that to you.
  7. I'm not really interested in engaging with someone who (admittedly eloquently) basically projects stuff onto me that I never said and just plays the victim. And there, by the way, is Farageism in a nutshell.
  8. If sarcasm is your main argumentative weapon here, you don't have much.
  9. Yes - I don't think in binary terms. And I have worked for people like him before. I know a lying, narcissistic sociopath when I see one.
  10. What a response. I feel compassion for those that are fooled by him, but he is a total conman.
  11. You're defending a faux victim quasi-fascist.
  12. You might have seen, I removed one illegal (placard) in Chesterfield.
  13. Just trying to reassure you a little. Ironically Reform helping Labour get in.
  14. https://stopthetories.vote/parl/north-west-leicestershire
  15. The point still getting missed. It isn't about your opinion, which is entirely valid - just please don't co-opt mine! I will wait and see what actually happens, rather than make my mind up before the fact.
  16. You've made the same mistake as David did - he might be right, it's not about that. It's the appropriation of consent/assent I object to. 'We all know' how unhealthy it is to allow it.
  17. Ooo, Leicester friends...
  18. I don't mind your opinion here one bit, David. Just don't try to speak for me - that is all. Can you not see why it's wrong to do so? I wish some folk on these boards wouldn't be so damned lazy and assumptive.
  19. That's an opinion, David, not a fact, and anyway, it's not about that. I just do not like people appropriating others' consent. It doesn't take Einstein to work out that purporting to speak for 'we' when you mean 'I' is completely unacceptable and frankly, not your (or indeed anyone else's) place. Hence I am speaking for myself here, even if I suspect a few others will be also be irritated by your assumptive use of the royal 'we'.
  20. Do we? Who do you presume to speak on behalf of, other than yourself?
  21. They'd cable tied it a lot, but that sign is now safely consigned to a bin.
  22. I remember that during the referendum, twattish bullies voting out appropriated public space to advertise Vote Out, without permission. Just seen a Vote Reform placard tied up in a public space. It's getting removed shortly.
  23. Just perpetual wannabe victims.
