  1. I need to write this down somewhere. My boss is in a relationship with my Auntie, has been for 20+ years, they have 2 kids, nice house, 3 holidays a year, good jobs etc. I've found out over the Christmas period (after someone in the family had one too many drinks) that he's been disguising various trips to Romania as 'work' - when the truth is he's been having an affair with a Romanian woman, not only that but they're engaged and the worst of all.... she's pregnant!! Sounds like a Hollyoaks script but it's all true and proven beyond doubt - there's pictures of the woman in question, her engagement ring, her baby bump etc. Rightly or wrongly, I kept hold of the information over the festive period as I didn't want to ruin my Auntie and her kids (my cousins) Christmas. Knowing this weighed on me immensely though so I eventually told my dad about it just before new year - he's since told my mum (my aunties sister) and she is going to tell her in a couple of days when they're planned to meet up with each other anyway. She needs to know the truth so it's 100% the right thing to do. It's disgusting what he's done and I hate him for it. Here is where I sound like a selfish ****... my career is finally settling down a bit and I feel I'm really making progress in my current job - obviously though, with this guy as my boss it's going to make things rather awkward. The loyal part of me is saying to immediately find another job and get my notice in ASAP, I honestly think I'll struggle to be in the same office as him, taking instructions off him and all that comes with a boss / worker relationship. And then my head is telling me to stay put and not potentially sabotage my career all because of someone else's actions. Work has always been a massive mood influencer for me, its had me spiral into depression before and suffer crippling anxiety. I've posted about work related anxiety / depression in this thread before and the replies I got from posters (you know who you are) really changed my outlook on the situation for the better. I don't know what the lesser of 2 evils is here, stay or go?

    Soumare

The issue with that is, if you put him as one of the more advanced midfielders I can't see him doing much in terms of goals and assists - just not sure where he fits or what he adds. He's a real conundrum for me.

    Soumare

We need a new CDM. I hope he proves me wrong but IMO Soumare isn't the answer, does some nice things at times but he's a liability in my eyes - doesn't sense danger and plays far too laid back for a midfielder in this league. I really wish Wilf could get back to his old self, he's regressed so much in the past 18 months or so.
  4. He's looking great tonight. Ideally we sign him in January, giving him half a season to step up for when Maddison leaves (albeit he's not at the same level, yet!) - both similar players.
  5. Praet should be playing on the right permanently, allowing Maddison to move back to CM. He was really good there before he got that injury vs. Stoke in the FA cup - him, Castagne and Tielemans all linked up great (Belgian connection etc.) I think he's criminally underrated by folks on here, one of our better players in my eyes. His stats aren't amazing by any stretch so that argument is valid, when he plays though I feel we move the ball through the pitch much quicker.
  6. "Our form dipped significantly at the time" Rodgers signed a contract extension on December 6th 2019. The 10 league games prior to that were: Won 2-1 vs. Spurs (H) Won 5-0 vs. Newcastle (H) Lost 2-1 vs. Liverpool (A) Won 2-1 vs. Burnley (H) Won 9-0 vs. Southampton (A) Won 2-0 vs. Palace (A) Won 2-0 vs. Arsenal (H) Won 2-0 vs. Brighton (A) Won 2-1 vs. Everton (H) Won 2-0 vs. Watford (H) 2 days after the Watford match the new contract was announced. That is an insanely good run of form and we were playing most teams off the park. Averaging almost 3 goals for and 0.5 against. We also went on to batter Villa in the next game 4-1 which was one of our best performances under Rodgers. The form after then definitely tailed off, however I go back to my original point - I struggle to see how anyone was critical of the club at the time we dished the contract out. Rodgers and the team have since gone to pot, but let's not take away how good we have been at times - those times are far, far away in the past now and I've wanted him out since late 2020 but that's not the point I'm trying to make, it's people acting like they knew all along how this was gonna go when really no one did (more of a general statement than aimed at you mate).
  7. I don't know... all feels a bit captain hindsight to me mate. If you can dig out a post from Dec 2019 where you've implied the decision to give him an extension was a bad one, then I will run away with my tail between my legs and I apologise - but I don't think there will be one.
  8. I've wanted him out myself for almost 2 years now and have been his biggest critic. But December 2019 when as I said, we were 2nd in the league, playing some of the best football I've ever seen a Leicester side play, and having just won 17 matches from 26... I can't believe you were against the contract extension? If you were then it begs the question, what more do you want?! For the record I am fully Rodgers out, and have been for a long time relative to most supporters.
  9. At the time we gave him the contract extension, we had won 17 of his first 26 games in charge and were 2nd in table, with Arsenal sniffing around. At that point we made Brendan the 4th best paid manager in the league. It was clearly the wrong thing to do in hindsight and we are in a right mess currently - but at the time of us giving Brendan the contract extension, I'd be shocked if anyone had any sort of ill feeling towards us doing so.
  10. Well no, but I don't think anyone for one second thought it was a bad move to give him an extension at the time. The club are making some horrendous decisions at the minute about a lot of things, but I have bit of sympathy with that one - in hindsight it was bad business, no doubt.
  11. If I was incompetent at my job, and had been for nigh on 12 months, getting paid the sort of wage he's getting - then yes I'd resign. His opinion of himself is far too high for him to even consider he might not be up for the job, though.
  12. I don't think Potter is up to much, personally. I agree with the sentiment he won't last the year at Chelsea.
  13. Why are dinner ladies called 'dinner' ladies when it's actually lunch time? Always wondered that.
  14. Beehave.
  15. 13th September, 5pm. Wishful thinking perhaps!
  16. Probably the saggiest chin I've ever seen right there.
  17. Surely not
  18. Would the media team be that much "in the know" to not post anything though?
  19. Fair enough mate, I think you're talking nonsense as well all for differing opinions though! We will be fine IF we change the manager, our squad is absolutely more than good enough.
  20. It's not an argument, you seem a little irate chap! Just a discussion that's all. If you genuinely believe our squad is one of the 3 worst in the league then fair enough, I think you're wrong - but it's your opinion so no problem at all. We will 100% go down if we keep Rodgers as manager, 100% - but this squad is so, so much better than how we're being managed.
  21. Yes but that is down to the manager, not the squad. Youri should never have been replaced, but if he was then Praet should've come on all day long. Amartey is crap, we get it - you don't rate him, I don't either. But any other manager who is half sane wouldn't have bought him on today.
  22. Just to clarify then - you think we're one of the 3 worst teams in the league. Amazing. I look forward to my "told you so" post when we stay up quite comfortably after changing manager, taste your own medicine Col haha.
  23. So to be clear... you genuinely believe this squad is one of the top 3 worst teams in the league? Seriously? I can't quite fathom that at all to be honest. Rodgers needs to go and we'll be fine.
  24. This squad is good enough to stay up quite comfortably though.
  25. Praet should be starting on the right of that midfield today as well. Maddison, Youri, Soumare and Barnes as a midfield 4 has no bite whatsoever, going to be a walk in the park for Brighton I think.
