Take 5700 fans to a match 80 miles away but yeah, the fans are the problem. Stop the world I want to get off.
-
Sack him tonight.

I think, and it pains me to say it, that Martin has to take a lot of credit here. Fair play to him for seeing it differently I guess. I can’t remember the last player we had who was able to half turn out of danger so much. Maddison was obviously class at it, but it’s one thing to do it in the attacking third and another to constantly be receiving / turning to start a counter deep in your own half, his ability to carry us up the pitch is a major bonus too. Great to see.

This, this, and absolutely… this. It’s one link / rumour, but the fact we’re actually going against what the manager said is actually refreshing. For too long we’ve had the tail wagging the dog in the transfer market. About time that changed. (and yes I’m not oblivious to the McCarthy, Cullen signings, just hope this is a step in the right direction).

Links to players like this make me feel so much more optimistic, despite what’s happening on the field. Just want signings like this to be the blueprint of our recruitment.

+ Souttar

Yeah but it’s almost 10 years to the day since we lost to a newly promoted Hull side who could barely field an 11 and had their tea lady on the bench, in the first match defending our premier league title. Leicester City do Leicester City things. (I hear you btw, it’s just not giving me much comfort)

I think we’re going to have a slow start here, and to the season in general. Can see us losing a few matches early doors. I do however expect us to pick up eventually, similar to how Southampton’s season under RM in the championship played out. I also think a slow start would result in panic at board level and there’ll be a flurry of activity towards the end of the window with potentially a bit of money being spent. Just to reaffirm that it really is shit or bust time with regards to achieving promotion this season.

He did, reminded me a little of Fofana (though obviously not at the same level). We badly need a CB who has the ability to carry the ball out of defence - Nelson was good at it but obviously he’s out the picture. I think it’s a vital characteristic to have in a Russel Martin team, otherwise the play will quickly become slow and ponderous. Hopefully he makes the right choice.
-
With Souttar looking like he’ll be off, I’d be starting Aluko at CB. All the attributes to be a top player there.
-
I think if you ask any Ipswich fan - they will tell you Burns was a better player last season, than he was 5/6 years ago.
-
It’s a solid signing. But I absolutely hear the concern about signing players who are 30+. Options for the 3 behind the striker would be: LW - Watson, Mavididi CAM - Chaplin, Cullen RW - Alves, Burns I think Page works best when played deeper as an 8.

Can you PM me details of what you use please mate?

Christ. Cheer up mate! -
Shameless plug, but here’s a song I’ve just put out - doing this purely for the fun of it so any listens are an extra bonus! https://youtu.be/1YqFLFZLkdU?si=7aaQZs-vHRlj9I2L

The biggest crime in all of this is the fact we don’t even sell those sausage rolls with club crest on anymore, stopped last season!!

Spurs are bang in trouble. You love to see it!

The only way I'd go another match this season would be if we appointed NP. The ground would be buzzing for his first match back. It's an open goal for Top / Rudkin, but this just sums them up.
-
I wheely like the sound of this.
-
They are 100% going to panic and approach NP now. Shouldn’t have taken this for it to happen, but I’m pretty sure that’s what they’ll do.

JUST GO AND GET NIGE BACK FFS

Hi mate - appreciate you checking in. The day I posted on here I actually applied for another role that I saw pop up on LinkedIn; it was my dream job, local, and was working for something I genuinely cared about. A couple weeks later and this morning I've been offered the role, I can't believe it! The meeting with my manager went well at my current place but they even acknowledged my workload was unsustainable, and with further cuts on the horizon there wasn't much hope of things improving. I'm not an example by any means, but anyone reading this in a similar position to how I was (work stress through the roof) then please don't lose hope or feel 'stuck' - you can get out of it; it might not be today, tomorrow, next week - but you will get there.

Stop moaning.

@Ric Flair was a pleasant surprise seeing you on BTG last night - spoke a lot of sense as per. @Loxm reckon you could sort a Ric vs Brock debate?
