That Goal should open the game up now.
-
A good team goal.
-
Nice to see Top at the game.
-
We need to do better.
-
Ricardo should have taken the shot himself.
-
Fats is brilliant at helping out the Defenders every game.
-
Lovely.

Started ok with lots of pressure. A good Omen.

Newcastle releasing a lot of young fringe players this Summer, I wonder is there any of them worth a Contract here.
-
I'm not convinced about this one. At 25 he's not exactly a novice and yet he hasn't made a breakthrough. Unless he's a very late developer. I also don't remember Arsenal releasing too many gems. Walcot was probably the last good player they let go that had a decent Prem career. A couple of years ago Arsenal were struggling for Goals and he couldn't get in the Team then. But I guess we'll be back shoppping mostly in Europe or Central America.

Should There Be Play-offs in the Football League?
Clever Fox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
The present system works fine in that it keeps more teams fully engaged trying to win matchs longer. It also keeps more Fans involved which has to be good for the game. At the bottom what might work better in extending the season so to speak is for the Bottom team relegated automatically, And the next 3 teams play off in a mini League with the winners staying up. This would give Clubs and Fans hope for a little longer insted of having that doomed effect from March when your team are not playing well. -
I'm not sure to be honest. I assume the 135 mil is the Championship prize money plus at least 1 years revenue from the Premier league. Obviously that changes depending on if you go up as Champions or runner up positions. And how high you finish in the Premeriership. Then if you stay up for 5 years it can add up to 265mil over 5 years.
-
A few very good suggestions which would work better. Using a 3 year from 5 year period would allow clubs the space to sort out their finances for the reasons you say. Currently it doesn't seem right that you have to sell your best players to try and comply with rules. There needs to be some allowance for Clubs competing in Europe also, As they need bigger sqauds to try and compete. The Bond seems to make lots of sense which should be Penal on the Owners rather than the Clubs. The Bigger the Club the Bigger the Bond.

I remember as a young boy an International Winger asking Fans for a Cigarette during games back then. He'd have a few puffs and say o here ,hold that, when the Ball was coming his way. How times have changed.

Not if it's going to Court it wont be settled before Man City. It's a disgrace that they've draged it out this long. That in itself is grounds for a reasonable claim by Everton and Forest. The sooner we get an Administrator appointed by the Government the better. Otherwise this crap will continue.

They say promotion will mean an increase in revenue of at least £135million over the next three seasons for the triumphant club. That could rise to £265m over a five-year period if the club avoids relegation in their first season in the Premier League. https://talksport.com/football/1108001/championship-play-off-final-worth-money-premier-league/#:~:text=They say promotion will mean, season in the Premier League.

Spurs lost 215 million in their accounts yesterday. How can they write off 100 million for Depreciation which is a non cash item. It's just a notional figure.
-
I don't know any of the Rules around FFP as it's a joke to begin with. Designed to protect the big Clubs. I assume the 105m is the approved loss figure. If he's paid off the losses whats the problem. Also in the case of a sole owner how does that work when he already owns 100% of his Club. The other issue you might be able to shed light on is Spurs today announced losses of 215 million. How can they set off Depreciation against that figure when Depreciation is a non cash item. It's a fictional figure and not always appropriate.
-
I read in the Accounts Top paid off 194 million of the Clubs debts and taken a bigger equity in the Club. Clearly not going anywhere.

I thought it was Chapman when he moved from Arsenal to Leeds, But I could be wrong.
-
It sounds a bit like the Chapman to Leeds transfer years ago when Chapman told his agent he was to try and get him 5k a week. When they met with Ridsdale his opening offer was 80k. They both could'nt sign the Contract quickly enough.
-
Can anyone explain why Revenue was down 17% which equates close to 40 million.
-
This coupled with poor signings is the root of the problem.
-
Because they expected to move a lot of the fringe players out, Which didn't happen for various reasons.

What would it take to turn on the owners?

I'm not singling you out personally as I know your not alone in this fullish thinking. I'm just commenting on the idiocy of the idea of challenging KP. to what purpose. ? Though your first comment about Top meeting with the Fans makes sense, It's been tried before by others and generally ended in anarchy when the heard mentality took over the meeting and it decended into chaos. If you're really serious ? Be very careful what you wish for. KP have been here since 2010 therabouts. In the time since, we've Won the Championship, The Premier league and the FA Cup.and Charity Shield, Not to mention European Football. They've Bought back the New Stadium out of the hands of Vulture Funds. And placed it back in the Ownership of the Club. They wrote off all of the Debts of the Club. Invested heavily in the Team and we're presently sitting at the top of the league. Albeit back in the Championship. To my knowledge they've never taken money out of the Club. Unlike the Glazers. We have the best Training facilty in the world, Along with the Stadium, And a new Expansion of the Stadium is planned along with other Income generators. I fail to see what anyone has anything to be complaining about the Club. Keep it up and there's always the alternative like Aldershot, Bury, Newport Etc. All good Clubs in their day but now defunct and gone into oblivion. Is that what people wish for. Perhaps you'd prefer the Glazers or the Faceless Arabs at Man City and Newcastle who are alledged to be money washing. And buying their way to success. That's not the kind of Club I want to support There's much more pleasure and feel good feeling in winning against the odds as we have done. Top may not be his Father, But he doesn't have his Father power either. He's a Director and a glorfied Employee of KP. He's young and bound to make mistakes. The main one being In not getting rid of Rogers sooner or allowing him overspend by signing players not fit for purpose with no resale value. Along with giving out big Contracts to very averge players. All Contracts should be a basic Salary and bonus related geared to success. If I were Top I'd bring back Pearson as DOF. with his history and knowledge of the Club and move Rudkin to look after his growing herd of Racing Horses. That's just my opinion. Do I want him or the KP company gone. No I certainly don't. Because I doubt he'll make the same mistakes again. I also don't believe he's lost interest either. It's more likely that he has a lot more on his plate being the oldest Son in helping his Mother run KP. Susan Whelan has been the Financial Brains behind KP from the beginning along with Vichai and has built it into what it is today. A multi Billion Pound Company. Business is difficult at the best of times, After Covid it's been even more difficult with many Companies going under. Despite losing half their Assets during Covid, They never once wavered or suggested selling the Club. So why should Fans. As Fans our job is to support the Club through the Good and Bad Times and in my 60 plus years as a Fan, There's been quite a lot of bad Times with modest success until KP came along. Yes people can have opinons on the Football Team, Selections etc. It's a Spectator Sport. Alfter all. Every Fan is a Manager without any real experience of the job. But we have little to no business interferring in the running of the Club. Even with the FFP issue many on here believe the Club are in the wrong, Why ? We've already won one Court Case, Why can't we win again. We as Fans don't know all of the Facts. So leave it to them who does and wait for the outcome before blaming anyone. The little I've read and heard about it is that the Club are fighting back for the good of all small Clubs against the Elite 6. Instead of griping about things we've no control over, We should be supporting the Club even more now , against aggression from the Premier league and EFL. I know I am. 100% Until it's proved otherwise.- 275 replies
