Played very well yesterday though he gave the Ball away a few times a little too easily. Once we nearly got turned over. But at least he tried to play forward passes unlike Skipp who I think played one forward pass all game. I think Aluko can make more surging runs forward with his pace to get in behind defenders, especially when we are looking to get back into games. But for a defensive roll like in Cup or tight games, Joseph is a solid choice for RB.

Not an 8 that chases up and down, I don't believe he's strong enough for that yet. But one that sits in that hole behind the Striker and Winger providing ammunition for others.

Might as well be prepared, We know they are both going to conceed a few Goals this season. So it won't be a shock when it happens. They both got arrogant in possession in the 2nd half yesterday, Which is a bad sign for us. Teams will target one or both of them in which case we need a plan ready for it. I've suggested we play Faes in midfield before, I think that could be his best position. He's good with the Ball at his feet can see a pass and can challenge for the ball in the air. I can't see how it would weaken the team playing the Skip role for a few games to see how he gets on. The only other pace we have is Okoli as you said and Aluko and Coulibally who Russell doesn't seem to think are ready. But I feel we need their Pace and Power in the team as we move too slowly going foward. Allowing the opposition to get set up defensively. But it's early days yet, Things can change quickly.

Spot on, I also thought he has very much improved as a Goalkeeper in the modern game. We always knew he was an excellent shot stopper. We have to thank Russell and his Coaches for that. I just hope he's not head hunted before the seasons over at least.

Our failure to sign another Striker cost us european football whenwe finished fifth, While we were signing 5 or 6 CBs. It was crazy then and our apporach to Strikers is crazy now. I do think this new Lad will do well for us and will provide us with the alternative options up top to go long short or just win crosses in the Box. Something we've missed since Ulloa really.

So he's going to give up 2nd place at Blackpool to be 3rd choice here. He really fancies himself as a keeper doesn't he.

Agreed, Okoli is not a Footballer like Aluko, At this level he'll be fine and hopefully will improve over the season. Souttar is a liability if he keeps performing like today. Maybe is just rust being out so long. Let's hope so anyway becuase we've noone else to play there.

No, But he was played on the wing which seemed strange when we had 2 new Wingers in the squad. He's better as an 8. and I'm sure we'll see him there soon.

He was bright when he came on, He just needs to be mindful of his defensive duties first as a FB.

Possibly, But apart from a few lapses from Souttar he was ok, Okoli similar strong in the challange and imporving on the Ball. He'll get better as the season unfolds. Yes, As CBs they'er always likely to make a mistake unlike upfield players. That's the way RM want them to play and it's looking better already than last season.
