Stoke (A) 21/02/26: Pre-Match Thread
Richmondfox replied to FoxesTalker's topic in Leicester City Forum
If he hasn’t watched any of our games he will play the “names”. That mistake and loss will be because of lack of prep on his part, If he repeats it after using his eyes on match day then no point watching until next preseason. -
I want players to stop sharing a brain cell when they attack, players to offer support and players to be less greedy.
-
Hope he doesn’t subscribe to the view that senior = good/experienced/insert cliché. He should be asking the seniors how they got in this mess, and then play them back their season highlights on a giant screen. Ayew is a great example to young men that anyone can become a millionaire.
-
I hope he has been watching our games as research. He won’t learn anything from watching the clowns in training pass to each other in a circle and trying to skin each other instead of working as a team. My fear is the obvious one, he will play the likes of Ricardo, Thomas, Okoli, Ayew who will prove us right and the manager wrong. The first game to me is a right off where he gives them a chance and they repay him by doing everything exactly the same. I think Musaka will be key in getting everyone up the pitch and advancing attacks. Mav needs to start using his brain for something other than step overs and cutting back once he’s already beaten a player.
-
The main impact will be players pressing, passing and moving. The basics. Musaka stretched the attack with simple forward passes into space. Daka and even Thomas ran into that space. Mavadidi did his usual style. Monga plays too much like Ayew and Mavadidi because he hasn’t been coached on how to play in a team. Sad we have wasted the chance to see him develop this season.

The only hope is that it’s a fresh pair of eyes and someone who will ask the simple questions of the team and pull them up on the stupid decisions they make. An 18 year old loanee in his first start was instinctively playing forward passes into unmarked space ahead. Something our players are unable to use their collective brain cell to try, other than once every 8 games. No clean slates, playing them because of perceived senior experience or judging them on how they perform in training. Just watch the games so far. I’ve watched a few of the training videos, no wonder the wingers think they can skin everyone if they practice all week against our defence.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

I don’t see what’s in it for Rudkin. A few £100k a year and the power? It’s failing around him at every level so it’s not like he’s basking in glory or desirable for a new company. He would get a pay off like all people in power who fail. Maybe a job at Macquarie when they come to collect the keys. How are those things so difficult to recruit in the modern age. CEO, director of football, data team, manager should all be in place before the previous has left. The only team that does anything is the media team who I think outsource on Fiverr. They just pump out the best of Vardy goals to distract and keep positive social media interactions. -

It was embarrassing. It would’ve been easier to accept if we were battered in the first half. So many brain dead decisions across the pitch and sidelines that they compound with the off field ones to make it even worse. The first half they play like they haven’t all season and score 3 goals. Pressing from the front and supporting attacks. They switch back to how they have played all season and lose. It’s simple stuff. -
He would’ve been better sitting in front to help Skipp mop up so he didn’t have to keep chasing around. The problem is they stop pressing, sit back allowing them to walk through midfield and to the wings, allow the cross and hope the cbs can clear it.

The first half they pressed, passed the ball and actually supported each other in attacks. Musaka was playing the ball into space ahead for Daka and even Thomas to run into and stretched the defence and more importantly kept the ball away from the areas they usually make mistakes. The 2nd half they stopped pressing, sat back, passed around in dangerous areas, inviting the pressure allowing SOTON play. Thomas making stupid mistakes again when he’s defending. It was like watching two different teams. If he didn’t want them to play like that in the 2nd half he should have taken control. The changes he made allowed them to sit back even deeper and he allowed the tired and thick full backs to be under constant pressure. Ayew was embarrassing, giving away fouls and not even able to do what people say is his skill. -
All they had to do was to play like the first half.
-
We need to be pressing and trying to force them to make errors rather than back off and hope the cbs mop it up
-
He has been shown up attack wise by a young kid. He was constantly looking to get the ball forward into space and advance players. Looks like a team player already, unlike Mav.
-
Get Mav off. Couldn't even bothered to move forward to get a pass from Page and draw a player away.
-
I heard King added Marcin Wasilewski to the players group chat.
-
2nd half exactly the same please. Press, pass and attack. No messing around the back. Okolis passing is still the weak link.
-
Mukasa is looking for the space ahead on the wing and passing so players have to run to it. It's great to see someone not instantly stop still and pass back. Added a lot of energy and directness.
-
Pressing, passing and attacking. Hopefully they have finally been embarrassed and woken up. Something must have happened behind the scenes for this reaction. This should be the basic quality for these players.
-
It's so simple and they should be doing this all the time. I really want to see Monga play like this so we can see him run at players and get in positions to shoot.
-
the overlap can only exist if Mav isn't part of the play.
-
Mav always has to cut back when he has space the first time, should've just had a shot. Skipp getting caught out too often, he's too slow to read under thier press.
-
AI is amazing
-
Sad watching Ricardo. Him and Okoli look like me and my dog playing football with a split tennis ball.
-
Skipp back pass under no pressure to stink out the momentum in their half
-
Every time Ricardo auto back passes to Okoli the Windows shut down music should play over the tannoy. Two full backs that hate to pass forwards, cb who can’t pass and two wingers that hate to run into space. Great coaching for the last 2 years.
