He needs to do some private coaching with Mav, Fatawu and Monga. Teach them to play to their strengths and how to play as a team, something our useless coaches seem unable to do.
-
If we start playing out the from back quickly then things should improve by not creating our own chaos around the back and we can get up the pitch quicker. The wingers also have to stop over playing and under thinking. They are so static because the full backs either pass behind them from deep and then stop running or completely ignore them and they have to watch the defence pass backwards until they lose it or boot it up the pitch. When they finally do attack, the wingers need to remember that they are playing in a team. This is now all down to King. Get the forwards running into space and those on the ball to look for that pass quickly. Ricardo & Thomas are cowards and JV thinks he is better, stronger and quicker than he actually is. At least Hamza is out, that's one less coward passing backwards. I would throw the new players in, they don't need weeks to get up to speed. The system is poor and King has watched these players make the same mistakes all season. I expect King to play exactly the same team including Ayew and allow them to play the same way. I don't think he has a clue as a coach, motivator or has any tactics. I will be hoping I'm proven wrong.
-
Now the whole staff and players need to look at themselves instead of feeling sorry and show some professional pride and back bone. King needs to make tough decisions and the players need to work.
-
At this point it’s not about replacing Ayew for what he does upfront but the impact he has across the pitch. I can’t stand the bloke, he has zero qualities we need. My patience might be less forgiving but King has no excuses to make the same mistakes.
-
If he plays Ayew and allows him to constantly play the same way, then King can get in the bin. If he has a clue and understands the detriment to the team then he needs to get the balls to fix it. Nothing will change unless King has actually tried to change the way we play. This is the game where we will know if he’s trying or just as useless.

Ricardo and Thomas must have RSI from passing backwards all the time. My hope is that he speaks the truth to the idiots and stop them from being cowards, creating their own problems with inviting the press and then passing it to their team mates to deal with. -

Hopefully he can tell Ricardo and Thomas to stop standing still and passing backwards but move and get forwards. Nelson will benefit from someone telling him to actually defend and not worry about making so many runs and leaving the back exposed, especially if he is coming back from an injury/fitness. He won’t want to be letting us get countered every time Ayew falls over. -

Yeah he needs leadership and guidance. I feel he was a better defender when his style was more solid basics and passing quickly to Skipp. As soon as replaced JV he started to play exactly the same, boring and risky at the expense of his teammates. He can pass and can run but is pointless if the whole team is static in front. We need our CBs to be defenders not CMs to get caught out on the halfway line. -

We can only hope. Who ever is in charge needs to make big decisions instantly and base selections off of how the perform on the pitch not in training. No clean slate rubbish when they can just watch any game. King needs to get some balls quickly. -

Hopefully and then we can get rid of the walking football, passing out the back after inviting pressure and the high line. We really need a fresh perspective and someone to speak up and tell the painful yet obvious truth about the issues in defence and the positioning. -

Another young player for Ayew to treat like shit on the pitch and not pass to. -

He'll get injured chasing back when they play the high line and dives instead of attempting to control the ball and they get countered -
The irony is Ayew without fail disrupts the harmony on the pitch. The whole coaching staff at the club should get in the bin. They haven't corrected any bad habits from players like Ayew, Soumare, JV, Thomas, Okoli, Mav and Fatawu. If Ayew throws a strop, I doubt there will be many in the squad that would care. An easy win for King would be drop him, if he made a fuss just call him out. The fans would like that but King doesn't come across as having that personality trait so it's understandable but frustrating to see Ayew in the line up constantly.
-
He really needs tactics and someone drilling discipline into him. Our players could do with secret training sessions from Huth, Morgan and Albrighton. How to nail the basics.

Especially as all the loan signings we have to include the caveat "if he stays fit". We do need fresh blood with no connections that will speak the truth to the players. The managers and coaches seem to be milquetoast at best at motivating and correcting errors. -
It really doesn't matter who we sign in midfield if Ayew is playing up front and JV is controlling the tempo at the back. They will keep playing the same pass that hasn't worked all season, bypassing the midfield who have to chase the counter because Ayew can't even manage his world famous hold up play.
-
Cope. He is immune to criticism and burying your head in the sand doesn’t help. He was a coach and part of the rot, directly or indirectly. Our team look unfit, are poor at pressing, working as a team, passing properly around the back, defending (Thomas) He chose to play the players that cause problems week in week out.
-
This is how I feel, yesterday was sad but also expected. I knew it would be like when Rodgers left and nothing changed because the same people were in charge. King has been part of the team that has been overseeing this decline. He was on the coaching staff and the players have looked poorly conditioned, undisciplined, playing with zero awareness, lack of urgency and tactics that make zero sense from an attacking perspective. They haven't worked on Okoli's poor passing, Ayew's cheating instead of trying to play football and his positioning. The lack of support for the wingers is obvious to all that watch us, yet they haven't fixed it. What I'm more shocked about is that he hasn't addressed the tactics. Surely as a former player he can see the problems and has ideas, I guess not. King isn't the sole cause but certainly is part of the mess. Maybe he's not very good at his job, it happens.
-
It's the lack of pass and move into space which frustrates me. We have scored some good goals from moving with pace and crossing or neat football where there is support. Then they would go back to the dross the next game. We are our own worst enemy. Correct those problems and we stand a chance. We need Mav and Fatawu to be getting the ball at the edge of the box not the halfway line.
-
Does that role work and does it cause us problems when defending? Is anything I've said incorrect and not happening on the pitch? No need to be so aggressive
-
Also our wingers and full backs.
-
I liked when he powered forward to make something happen, he even had the footballing brain to keep running into space after passing to Mavadidi. His mistake was passing to Mavadidi and expecting the selfish clown to pass it and then move into space to continue the attack as a team. Mav did his usual back pass to Thomas who was already set to hit it sideways and kill the attack.
-
I agree It's all conjecture but using my eyes is and noticing repetition is enough for me. King will always be a legend in this club and has achieved more than the players put together, but that doesn't give him a free pass for his current role as too much is at stake. Let's see if he plays Ayew next game and allows him to pay exactly the same way, that's all I need to know. If Ayew (or any of the clowns) were ignoring King during his role as a coach, why would he play him exactly the same way after everything he has seen. That's where the coaching staff either have no clue or were happy with what he is doing. The same with putting Thomas back in to make the same poor mistakes in defence. We have zero passages of play when attacking. Mav actually passed to Thomas who made a run and then crossed. These players are good enough to be spamming crosses from both sides all game. Poor coaching and tactics is stopping it. They should send all week working on it because whatever they have been doing isn't working.
-
He has been part of the team that has set them up to play like this all season. They aren't the most skilled in the middle but you make yourself hard to play against. Managers and coaches correct behaviours of players unless you don't think there is a problem. Ricardo keeps drifting inside leaving massive gaps and unable to recover or make a tackle. Mav and Fatawu have been allowed to be greedy players because of the lack of support. Ayew is Ayew, you drill him into not moving from upfront, if not you call him out in front of the team and make an example, then you bin him off. These clowns reward him by starting him the next game. King and Marti have zero clues tactically on how to attack. Before Okoli he set them up with the standard high line and players not moving into space.
