  1. To me the set up is the issue, Marti set them up to fail, enabled the bad traits of JV/Ayew and allowed the wingers to be greedy during to zero support. Now JV is back, the last two games were even slower to get the ball out the back trying to play the same way that hasn’t worked since Enzo left. The pass from the cb into the middle at the cost of any other option is the blocker. A decent manager will command Ayew to stop doing what he does and just goal hang. King must be able to recognise these awful patterns of play and adapt, if not then see you later and good luck.
  2. If King sets them up exactly the same as Marti has done and allows them to act the same way, then he can get in the bin and find somewhere else to learn his trade. The temp managers before Smirh came in wasted games doing exactly what Brendon did. Whoever takes over next doesn’t need to waste time watching them in training, they need to watch the previous games to see their mistakes and what they can and can’t do. The problem with our managers picking players that look good in training is they are playing against us, of course they will look good.
  3. We need to play our assets if he can deliver. He is getting paid so should be professional enough to just get in with his job. If he fell out of favour because of being toxic and wanting to leave, he should’ve done things professionally to get his move. If he spoke out against management because of the dross that was happening around him, I can’t blame him. Too many of our team are just going through the motions with zero accountability around them. Either way, his performance on the pitch should not have changed to match the behind the scenes issues.
  4. This for me as well. It's like he forgot all the great qualities he had last time under Enzo. Driving forward with the ball into space. He doesn't even attempt to move forwards to get the ball but drops back which kills any momentum of the break. We know what we are getting with the likes of JV, Soumare, Thomas and Ayew. That is on the coaches for not addressing anything and allowing them the freedom to infest what we see on the pitch. Ricardo is a great pro but he isn't a leader on the pitch. So much dross has happened with him as captain. You couldn't imagine someone like Jordan Henderson putting up with JV or Ayew doing everything other than what they should be doing.
  5. Mongadidi step over challenge. It’s frustrating watching our wingers, it’s a combination of them not getting the support but in the rare moment they do, they are greedy and try to do everything themselves. It is like they’ve forgotten the basics of being a winger and just focus on the tricks rather than using their tricks to get out of trouble. As soon as they hit a brick wall, it gets sent back to the full back who recycle it, but the wingers don’t use their brains to just run ahead into the space. A simple pass and move and they are off, our wingers will stand still. They need discipline and tactics drilled into them, if they aren’t going use their brains.
  6. It's shocking how bad a cb in the modern age is at passing. He takes so long to decide what to do, the initial pass is gone. He lets the ball roll across him too often as well and ends up in a bad position. Sort or long pass he always hits it too slow. Of course our players keep passing to him and expecting something different. Ricardo is the biggest culprit
  7. He needed the energy from the crowd to make those perfect back and sideways passes.
  8. There are issues all over but he has a huge say in what is happening on the pitch. The turgid football is his fault. That's not to say the other complaints aren't valid, they are.
  9. And it's frustrating as some of the goals, where they actually do play down the wing and cross the ball in, they should be doing this 10 times a game with ease. That's if they were set up correctly and old to play like that.
  10. There was zero positive play. All slow and sideways. JV back in to control the tempo, stinking out everything. No one at the back or midfield wants to actually pass the ball forwards quickly and enable JV to play this shit style. Mav and Fatawu don't play like wingers, at least Monga knows he can run into space. Ayew will always be Ayew. Has a chance to shoot, doesn't but then won't allow anyone else the chance. The poor tactics and lack of progressive passages of play is all down to the clown Marti. He's too busy on his ipad ordering from Asos to see the shit which is being served up. Not sure if Kingy is being listened to or has any actual ideas but he needs to play the Great escape DVD to them all tonight.
  11. A manager with half a brain will see what's wrong and nip it in the bud, if they players don't they get benched. JV is stinking everything out, there is no need for all their sideways passes between them and midfield. Thomas ignoring the simple passes to Monga and Ayew sabotaging any attack if he misses his opportunity. A half decent manager can turn this around.
  12. Mongadidi run into shins contest. Mav is so frustrating, he gets space but can't help himself to play back into danger.
  13. Page need to be kept away from this manager. He has had the drive and raw energy taken away like Monga has. Now he's just playing boring passes, gets into space then sends it back.
  14. That attack broke down as Ayew plays the ball back to JV rather than Mav who was unmarked.
  15. He can't help himself. If he can't do it then he won't allow anyone else to. I can't wait till Ayew and JV are out of this club. They have such a negative impact at both ends.
  16. Is Nelson injured? Why bring Thomas on but keep Okoli or JV on. At this point surely even this clown in charge can see Thomas only impacts us negatively.
  17. Yeah that's what's frustrating. They were drilled into working together. There is zero need for Ayew to drop to cb to get involved with passing backwards. He should be goal hanging, ready to pounce. Simple 1-2s and cross should be bread and butter for these but they act like they will get docked if they pass and move into space. The wingers stand still when anyone does move forwards, that's after 20 short passes backwards to slow it all down. This all comes from the manager not drilling anything into them.
  18. The only ones that seem to be sticking to it are the defence, because they get to control everything. we really need those 5 passes between JV and Hamza when Hamza could just turn with the ball and send it forwards, but that would be risky.
  19. It gets worse every week. It really doesn't matter how we are set up if they keep passing sideways and backwards without even attempting anything quickly.
  20. It's like Marti has set us up to utilise the weaknesses rather than strengths. JV stinking it out by having to control the tempo. He won't ping a ball or pass quickly but will try it from the halfway once Oxford have set up solidly at the back. A manager with half a brain would tell him to stop trying to pass the ball into the crowded middle, push up the fulfil backs and get the wingers to actually move into space. Hamza and Ricardo are just boring and useless players, neither bring anything positive to this team playing like this.
  21. He makes Cooper look like a genius with his insane everyone playing on the left apart from JJ tactics.
  22. Second to his instincts of dropping backwards when someone near him has the ball instead of running forwards into space. I'm at the point where I can't even stand watching Ricardo with his passing backwards so the CBs can pass to a crowded Ayew or Hamza to send it back.
  23. Mav crying for the ball from Page when he turned backwards but then when he could've passed several times he's his usual greedy self.
  24. Yet hell run all the way back to get involved with the defence only to give the ball away or slow everything down so we send it backwards.
  25. Just then Mav busted a gut to cross the ball and Ayew couldn't even be bothered to break out of a jog.
