Useless

You must have forgotten last time we played them. He was dogshit and offered nothing. He didn’t even attempt to take on an out of position Ashley Young who is even older and less mobile than he is. He stinks out most of our attacks by not passing forward quickly instead holding onto the ball and trying to dive. Nothing comes from these free kicks apart from being sent backwards.
-
Add to that no attempts to track and tackle in the middle of the park and JJ drifting in side all the time leaving space for the winger and full back. Eventually Ayew plods back and gives a needless foul away.
-
I’m hoping for another Ayew Vs Young showdown.
-
We really miss a player that can actually turn with the ball like Maddison or Tielemans rather than sending it backwards constantly.

Spurs 1 - 2 LCFC (A) Full Time Thread

The second goal came from what we should be doing a lot more often. VK and Reid pressed forcing them back, Soumare nipped in and then Reid got the ball forward quickly. No standing off, slowing down and sending it backwards. -
He just kicks the ball out anyway and we end up in the back foot with extra time added as well.
-
Get the grandads off.
-
Ayews fake head injury leaving us a man down.
-
Watch him take Bilal off again and put Ayew in the middle.
-
He does this too often. Needs to switch his brain cell on.
-
No one even bothers to close down crosses in this team. Players are happy to stand around and point. Shocking the amount of times players give Faes and JJ the slip.
-
You would have thought the loss of face would be a higher concern. We need the Bangkok post to do another article then he might do something.
-
Dads Army FC, idiots and donkeys all over, apart from Bilal.
-
Doesn’t help that we seem to let teams cross rather than press and stop the cross.
-
Justin doing everything to avoid crossing there.
-
Nice run away from the ball from Ayew. Do any of our players look before the pass the ball.
-
Looking forward to Ayew trying to hold the ball up, ignoring a pass to try and throw himself on the ground only to give it away and set Spurs on the front foot. Soumare is going to make Davies look like Maddison.
-
And when being attacked the full back is where the cb should be leaving all the time in the world to walk into our area and cross. 2025 and we are needing someone like Danny Simpson, but less aggressive off the pitch.
-
That would require getting close to the player. The most we can realistically expect is a menacing glance as Maddison walks through the midfield and Soumare jogs away.
-
That’s true but he also stops and turns back even when he has space in front. He just isn’t a good footballer, even at the basics. Now I’m nit picking but watch him take a throw in, if he doesn’t do something first time he shuts down and ends up sending it back.
-
Especially as most of the time when he actually does get forward he bottles it, stops and passes to the middle but doesn’t carry on the run.
-
Exactly this. Ruud isn’t going to fix the same mistakes that the players have been making all season. I’m not sure he’ll take Bilal off again and put Ayew there and Facundo on the right. JJ poor positioning and lack of commitment in the tackle, his late reaction trying to block will keep the player onside. Soumare with his weekend couch to 5k jog, watching their midfielders pass by even though they are a metre away from him. Ayew falling over trying to win fouls when a pass forward would be better or stopping and passing backwards as he can’t run. Vestagaard being outmuscled and Faes pratting about. Mav slowing down most attacks to do 5 step overs and kick the ball against the players shins all while VK has bombed forward into space. This leaves the counter open down our left.
-
The last game he was given a chance with Skipp and he didn’t make a single tackle.

Were those doing the internal review reviewing themselves? That would be why the same errors keep getting repeated.
