  1. Mavadidi, Fatawu and Ayew had been working closely with the rest of the team to curate simple and effective passages of play that work to the strength of the team. Quick pass and moves, running into space, cross first time and overloading box.
  2. It seems like he has spent zero time with the attackers or even watched them. I keep repeating this but we get opened up all the time by simple 1-2 down the wing. Our attacks start by standing still on the half way line with zero runners or even an attempt at a pass and move from the wingers. Mukasa isn’t passing into space anymore because no one moves, and he seems to not have the instinct to shoot like he can do. The whole coaching staff needs to be cleared out. The first half against Soton should be the blueprint. Don’t message round the back, press from the front, pass into space for players to run into and support them. Hopefully Fatawu isn’t in his mood where he wants to do everything on his own, ignores his team mates and offers little.
  3. We wouldn’t need to fight as hard if the wingers didn't stand still, wait till they get doubled up on then try to skin them instead of passing and moving into space. Marti had shit tactics, Gary has zero other than leave them to their own devices. These two make Cooper look like a genius with his everyone apart from JJ play on the left wing tactics.
  4. Or doesn’t really matter who we play upfront if Fatawu and Mavadidi play like they do. They have let the attacking side down the most this season with their greedy play and lazy attitudes. Take away Fatawu’s bangers and he can barely skin a championship clogger defender when he could just run into space beyond them and have them beat. Brain dead players that need a manager like Enzo that will program into them what they have to do. he brought Ayew on and he wanted to do everything other than get near the goal. He helped lay off the ball for a cross but then couldn’t be bothered to run 2m to the be in the box. Another attack he had so much time to cross but waited till he was closed down to win a corner which he took and nothing came from it as always.
  5. He’s just another caveman manager, no tactics or gameplay ideas other than keep it tight and clapping his hands on the sideline. It doesn’t need to be an experiment, he has two seasons worth of games to learn how these players play. He has let them play exactly the same way as what has gotten us into this mess. It says more about him playing known knowns who continually fail over a know unknown who is scoring in the u21s or Page who has shown he can play with the 1st team.
  6. A manager that can see the problems and change them instead of ignoring and watching them repeat game after game. Some tactics and patterns of play drilled int the attackers would be nice. Fatawu can barely beat championship defenders, stands still to receive the ball and wont make any runs. Anyone with eyes can see a simple 1-2 move and we can open up a defence. Even Mavadidi started to do it last game, but then he shuts down, won’t try and shoot or cross until it’s too late.
  7. Nothing changed because the players are allowed to play in exactly the same way. Fatawu was useless like most of the season. You could tell he couldn’t be bothered after 5 minutes when Ricardo was driving forwards with the ball and he stood still. Ayew coming on and not making an effort to run 2m into open space for the cross he helped start. Another free header from a corner. Skipp decided to mark Okoli and seemed to get stuck on him.
  8. Takes ages to cross so he’s closed down just so he can take a dog shit corner
  9. Our throw ins are like giving away free kicks. We never make a quick throw in but wait till our players are marked standing still.
  10. Our wingers will try and skin every player with zero support and then we’ll get opened up by a basic 1-2 cross into the box.
  11. He has let the players play in exactly the same way as they have all season and failed at.
  12. I’m not even going to bother with the 2nd half, I’ll do my work instead.
  13. Was that Skipp who glitched on Okoli when he tried to get around him?
  14. He’s been crap all game, not bothering to run, standing still and trying to do stupid little passes.
  15. If you’re blind and only listen to Taggart then this team has no issues and are playing well.
  16. At this point in the season it doesn’t matter who the manager picks, they always play the same way no matter the opposition. Over play and under think. Is Okoli going to stop passing to unmarked opposition players? Will Thomas ever pass the ball forwards, if he runs will Mav return a pass? Daka run without falling over or spooning it? Mav and Fatawu remember there is more to being a winger than a step over challenge?
  17. His world famous hold up play and winning free kicks. Sadly it’s holding up our attacks because of not passing or diving and giving away free kicks which he then argues with ref and kills even more time.
  18. Nothing will change unless they have been practising how to pass the ball into space, the attackers to run into that space, players offer support and pass to players that can bothered to get in the box. Sadly we have another manager whose tactics have peaked at keep it tight.
  19. It’s a shame that the attackers have been left to their own devices all season. Zero tactics and limited team work. Bad habits haven’t been corrected by the staff and the players haven’t improved on what they keep failing at every game.
  20. The excitement because of his scoring figures overlooked any actual due diligence on my part. I’ve only just looked back at the games he scored in. While the over all goal tally was impressive, they were battering everyone 5/6/7 - 0 on the reg. The league was like if a full strength Man City played peak Marti City every week. I’m more of a competence breeds confidence person. He should’ve been feeling confident after a club rewards him He was found out for being not that good against better opponents, stagnated and become even worse while others like KDH, Fatawu, Ndidi even my most hated player JV used strengths to play their part.
  21. Cope, hes crap. Perez was always played out of position by Rodgers. Daka falls over his own feet in front of the keeper, like at Man City last season.
  22. I think it was more a purple patch and he has shown his true ability the last 4 years. A bit like when you pull a stunner in a night club and no one can understand how it happened, and never happens again.
  23. He’s another limited caveman manger with the thought process of experienced = good in tough situations. Like Marti, I’m sure he has watched any of our games and highlights. They got us into this mess when the pressure was off. He hasn’t improved or added anything to the attacks in the form of passages of play or stopping the bottlenecks that Mav, Ayew and Fats constantly repeat. Our most fluid attack period of late was the first game Mukasa came in. Daka was pressing from the front and Mukasa was instinctively passing into the space ahead in the wings, that forced Daka and even Thomas to overlap. Of course Mav stayed still. It seems like Mukasa has tempered his forward passes because attackers are too static.
  24. He hasn’t got the instincts to run into space to receive the ball when in his preferred position, I have zero faith he would do this upfront. Ball to feet with his back to goal, step overs and cut back for a second go if he has beaten his man until it’s time to pass backwards. I thought I was disappointed in him this season but he’s playing to his ability. Sadly replacing him for Monga would get the same results. He only knows how to play beach football and filming tricks with his mates. Poor management and coaching haven’t improved him or developed him into playing in a team and using other methods than trying to nutmeg everyone. All of our wingers (inc Ayew) are too greedy and lack the instincts and work rate of someone like Albrighton. They don’t realise a pass and move can be more effective than step overs. He will learn a lot though once he’s at Man City.
  25. Why don’t our wingers run into space or pass the ball or do simple 1-2 over laps with the fullbacks or midfield. I’m not sure who is in charge of the tactics but we don’t seem to have any plan or passages of play.
