  1. Who do you reckon - if anyone - out of this shower gives a damn that they could be part of the worst Leicester City side ever? Like, the slow decline over multiple mediocre Championship seasons, culminating in our first relegation to League One, was the lowest this club's ever been. But successive relegations would be a new low, in my opinion.
  2. I think it's how we survived under the onslaught that Boro threw at us at times in that game. Yes an error cost us at the end of the first half. But in other games we'd have capitulated way before then, lost the game 4-1 and only started playing in the second half when the game was out of reach. Even after conceding we never gave up and that I can absolutely get behind. For a manager in his second game who hasn't enjoyed a home fixture yet, it's a good base to build from. We know we can play at times. Get those combinations right again and fingers crossed we'll fly back up the league to safety.
  3. Popov has been extremely unlucky but showed great promise in his early years here. It would be a shame if we just let him go now he's finding some form somewhere. It may be the National League but we should either be keeping him and loaning him out again or doing a Man City by extending his contract then selling him to help with PSR but inserting a buy-back clause in case he continues to rip it up wherever he ends up next.
  4. It appears a simple prospect to finish from there. But to bang it in high above the keeper like that shows a confident lad. It reminds me of the type of finish Jermaine Defoe used to go for at the near post. He could've easily gone for the percentage play low back across the keeper or just hit the target but that was a proper goalscorer's finish in my opinion. Get it wrong and he looks a fool but he smashed it in the net.
  5. We still look capable of a rick at any moment but the difference in application is stark. A long way to go but let's hope we keep improving. Wins are going to be needed very soon.
  6. What was nice about yesterday was that we actually got back into the game after the slow start. Some actual character shown by the players in the second half and a great celebration after Winks's goal. We need to cut out the individual mistakes though. We can't be bossing the game and then conceding entirely against the run of play. Some of these players still switching off at important moments so Rowett has a real job on his hands to turn that aspect around. But again, almost the story of the season in that we know we can play decent stuff at times but individual errors cost us.
  7. Haven't seen it before with all the myriad threads that keep cropping up so thanks for that. Biggest takeaway being that we may not have a club in 18 months if we're relegated to League One and can't get back at the first time of asking. The training ground is a huge millstone around our neck and the current running costs of the club before wages are considered are roughly double the revenue you get in League One. We wouldn't be sustainable as a club and therefore no buyer would be interested. King Power is relatively powerless to sort ourselves out because they effectively went into administration in Thailand last year and have to give a proportion of their profits away to the Thai government. If by some miracle we stay up this season, for the love of all that is precious in this world, Top, sell up mate. Thanks for the Premier League title, thanks for the Champions League and other European campaigns, thanks for the FA Cup, but please don't put us out of existence. If we did, sure, I'd follow a phoenix club revival playing on Vicky Park, Abbey Park or temporarily ground sharing at Oadby, Hinckley, Coalville or Market Harborough. But I really don't want to.
  8. I assume the thought that we could be punished further for appealing is based on nothing more than the process for appealing red cards/player bans where 'frivolous appeals' are punished more severely. I also assume that actually this is not the case when appealing points deductions as it could come across as unduly vindictive if the PL/EFL imposed further sanctions for clubs having the temerity to appeal such a punishment. I imagine CAS would have a field day.
  9. Hope he quickly identifies the players who will actually buy in to what he's selling. That seems to be almost the entire battle with the senior members of this squad.
  10. Big opportunity for him for next season. If all the sales and getting these higher earners off the books helps to sort us out PSR-wise, maybe we'll actually have something to spend in the summer. Save our season and he could get a longer contract with a club that could be a challenger next season. Some big ifs there, not least the risk that he can keep this sinking ship afloat this season. But at least he's a proper manager with good experience. Get the basics right and we'll pull ourselves out of this.
  11. This feels like the Carrick to Man Utd of Championship managerial appointments. Let's hope it has a similar effect.
  12. That is unbelievable. We've only ever been in the third tier for one season in our existence. We should never be too big for our boots to think we could never be in that division again. But we should absolutely be scathing of any set of owners, management/coaching team and players who take us back there or have us on the verge of doing so. Last time there was an element of fatalism and a feeling of as we're down here we might as well enjoy it. But we should not be happy about the prospect of returning by any means.
  13. This should be pretty obvious. March, protest, chant against Top, Rudkin and King Power. Hands off Vichai's statue, he started the good times, saw us through it and tragically died outside the stadium. It's embarrassing enough for KP that after everything Vichai did, Top and Rudkin have led us to this situation where we're staring into the abyss, can't afford to buy players to turn things around, can't attract a manager and we're at the point where we want our greatest owners to shove off. Touch Vichai's statue and there's absolutely zero sympathy for us from outside the club. If anything, lay some flowers at the statue and sing the Vichai song there while holding KP OUT, TOP OUT and RUDKIN OUT signs. That'll get the message across perfectly.
  14. This was supposed to be where he learns his trade and steps up in a number of years. Instead we're a basket case and relying on him while the club flail around dilly dally in what is now a relegation battle. I wouldn't begrudge him quitting and getting the experience he needs elsewhere. If he does, it's another stick to beat King Power with.
  15. To an extent, yes. But it's got to a point now where the players are just as toxic as the ownership and the board. All of them need to go (with the exception of the youth players and perhaps one or two others). We need a Pearson-style reboot where personality is prized as highly as ability.
  16. Not the most important thing in the world but what is that scoreboard? Very weird.
  17. 'Lead' as the past tense verb instead of 'led' is one that gets my goat. So many actual legitimate newspaper articles that have this mistake in as well.
  18. Keep up the fight, best of luck.
  19. Feel for Macquarie when our next loan is secured against the DAZN app's National League rights
  20. Solid Championship player. Hero in League One. Yeah we probably outgrew him in the season Pearson took us to the Prem but I don't think anyone is saying he was a top PL player. He's well thought of because he did everything that was asked of him while he was at the club. Never kicked up a stink when he was out of the side and was a model pro and good role model. He was also one of our brightest sparks at the worst point in our history. That breeds goodwill. Not entirely sure that means he's not a good coach either. And I'm not sure that a couple of games as interim manager is indicative of how he'll be as the top dog one day. He's also learning the ropes at one of the worst-run clubs in the country. He'll get a proper chance somewhere in a couple of years or so. Or maybe he'll just remain a good first-team coach or assistant. The club has put him in this situation and a player has been sent off early in both games he's managed, ruining any kind of prep he would have made for both of those matches. I don't think this situation is the right one to be judging how King is/will be as a coach or manager.
  21. Get Mukasa, Monga and Richards on
  22. Kingy will be tearing his hair out with another early red card. These pr!cks don't help themselves at all.
  23. It's going to be an absolute bloodbath on here if we go down again and have to sell off the entirety of our best generation of academy players possibly ever to cover the cancellation of our higher earners' contracts. It's horrible now but could be so much worse. Yet the club continually has its head in the sand.
  24. 'Bare goals'. Hope he delivers. Good to have someone with that confidence through the door. At least we have options now with him and Mukasa both being able to play multiple positions. With Mavididi and Monga rotating on the left, Richards hopefully replacing Ayew and rotating with Fatawu, and Mukasa able replace Ayew or De Cordova-Reid, we now have options to allow Page to play his natural game as well as James when he's back. Aribo gives us an option in midfield too as well as an emergency striker. Hopefully James and Ramsey can both come back and impact the squad during the run-in too. I feel good with these guys but it remains to be seen if they can settle and make a quick impact. Lascelles is a huge question mark but I've a feeling it's last chance saloon time for him. One where the stars align for club and player. We need an unlikely hero and he could be it.
