That been shutdown? It’s not working

Was the Xmas do last Sunday wasn’t it? Wonder if something happened then?

That’s as far as my scouting goes I’m afraid . I just want a goal scoring midfielder, anyone got any ideas? Didn’t realise he was 28, thought he was more 23/24 with room for improvement!

I thought when I first watched it that keeping the ball and recycling possession was the first stage. We do this okay, I expected us to then take more risks and be hungrier on the press to get the ball back, the press isn’t as intense. In the final third I thought movement would happen as we got use to having so much of the ball and we got more static as games go on. maresca goes on about finding solutions against teams, it looks like it’s just keep ball until they lose concentration, we didn’t even look fit in last twenty last night and we only had one game since international break. tactics need a change and quickly or we are going to see the season drift away to nothing.

I thought Wednesday has as little intensity as us!

I’m hoping this is a target in January, if we’d got McAtee this maybe would have helped the creativity, hopefully someone is lined up. we aren’t getting anyone of his quality but Maddison would of thrived in one of the 8s in this system with that extra bit of individual quality he has.

He’s just come back of a lengthy injury and Maresca has said he was signed with his eye on the future. He will get his chance when Daka and kelechi go AFCON in January.

We seem to be going across goal cut out at front post or going high towards back, neither winger attack the back post particularly well either.

Wonder if it’s changed due to the number of players opposition have back in the box? The pull back works when you break the lines quicker as defenders aren’t in position. Having a winger run at full back to the bye line when the defenders are already on edge of 18 yard box when they receive the ball doesn’t really allow for the cut back. Fatawu goal at Swansea was a cut back and Ndidi was there for it too, more goals like this please

I know it’s only a little snippet, but preseason training clips and the open training session did lots of moving the ball wide for a cut back. I feel like we haven’t perfected that yet when defenders are in play. Once that happens the goals will flow.
